So we're playing Baylor...

I remember a team went zone against us earlier this year and Buddy flat out busted it. As soon as they went zone his eyes lit up. I mean he has been playing against the best zone in college basketball since he's could touch a basketball.

Buddy and Hughes should get a lot of open looks on the catch and shoot vs a zone.

FSU is by far the best 4 seed, imo. they are the best team in the west region, imo...was hoping they would not be in SU's bracket but I guess it makes sense that they shouldn't have to face UNC, Duke or UVA before final four either...
Agreed prediction winner of Cuse/Fla St wins this region!!!!

8 of the Baylor top 9 players in minutes played are guards. Their top forward is 6'8". We will have a definite height advantage in the game. But G Mark Vital looks to be a rebounding machine even though only 6'5". I have seen Baylor play a few times this year (I live in Austin, Tx and my daughter graduated from Baylor) and they are incredibly inconsistent. Sort of like SU. They have some fairly nice victories but the Big 12 was no where near the quality of the ACC this year. Baylor likes to hit the offensive boards even with their lack of height. Unless Baylor goes crazy from beyond the 3-point line I like SU's chances of moving on.

Good things about playing Baylor:

- They play a zone as well so they won’t lut much ball pressure on us
- They don’t score very well in the paint
- They turn it over a decent amount and don’t force turnovers
- They foul a lot
- They aren’t that good from the line
- Despite being a good 3pt shooting team all year, they were ice cold the last month
- They aren’t big; their most used lineup is 6’a, 6’3, 6’3, 6’7, 6’8

Bad things about playing Baylor
- They’re beasts on the offensive glass and don’t allow a lot of offensive boards on defense
- they get to the line a decent amount
I thought I heard about that rebounding thing right. now how do they do it because it's always said that because we play a Zone that is the reason why we can't get offensive rebounds and/or rebound well at all so okay what are they doing that causes them to be a good offensive and defensive rebounding team. Interesting

Baylor could be a true toss-up. Let’s not assume Battle will be healthy.

As for Gonzaga, I think they’re getting a bit of an assist here in terms of preparing for the Round of 32. The zones aren’t identical, but at the very least they’ll be able to spend the next few days working on fundamentals, where to attack, etc.
