I would go with Allen as at least he can pass the ball, notwithstanding his tendency for ints. With Allen we can still have a good running game, just had off to to Jerome and gulley. I'd establish be run to setup he pass and go from here. To me, opposing D will focus on stopping the run with Hunt in here as he isn't enough if a threat with his arm. Will be interesting to see what Schafer does.

I vote Hunt. Offers more with the legs.

Allen can fit the ball in tighter windows, which is needed for this pass offense. But, he turns the ball over way too much and has a bunch of balls swatted at the line.

Hunt will start, but Allen should. He is the better QB and it will be easier to transition to one of the new guys next season. I thought Hunt had shown he was the better QB for this team, but man you have to have some kind of threat passing the ball.

As a football program we HAVE to start Hunt.

We need someone with game experience next year.

Doesn't matter they both are awful. Start one of the freshman now. LOL Hunt shouldn't start next year so I don't care if he has "in game" experience

Hunt. Get nothing out of starting Allen. At least Hunt can make plays on the ground if he isn't held back. We had some nice drives going in the first half, but the offensive line made 3 critical penalities.

If I was a big time HS qb and wanted a chance to play early though I would be knocking on Syracuse's door.

Felt bad for Allen. First possession in. Ball thrown right at the WR. WR of course doesn't know how to catch it. Tips it for an INT. Good stuff.. Funderburk must be awful.

Hunt is thinking too much.

He is not reacting.

Too slow.

Speaking of Funderburke, he was taken off the traveling squad.

As bad as hunt was, Allen's numbers were somehow worse

Hunt all the way. The offense stinks with Allen and just struggles with Hunt. Play Hunt as at least he can make a play or two with his legs

The more I think about why not burn Wilson's red shirt and let him take his freshman lumps with the team. If you are going to lose lets see what Wilson has. I see other freshman starting. Why not see if he can play or not. Screw his red-shirt. HCSS might be looking for a job at the end of the year. Wilson can't be any worse than Hunt or Allen. Look at Houston's freshman QB that we were looking at. He is playing well. Why not. I assume I will be called stupid and blah blah but it is a serious thought and if I was coaching for my job I would be thinking about.

Not gonna call you names and I see your logic. With SU needing to win 3 out of the last 4 to make a bowl (something I think is unlikely) I wouldn't waste the red shirt at this point.

Allen looks awful back there. He has a big arm, but things just don't seem to work out when he's there. He takes too long to make decisions and stares down receivers. He just doesn't make plays, though he has all the physical tools. If he had the Oklahome O-line and their receivers ability to get open, then he'd be the starter. He's got our o-line and our wide-outs and can't make plays for the team. We still need to keep looking for our next QB.

Not only would it undermine the coaches' decision making capabilities to the team, it would crush any chance of giving Hunt any shot of reaching his potential, whatever that may be.

I don't necessarily disagree that Allen couldn't do better, or at least equal, but no matter what, the answer isn't going to be a true freshman or RS frosh next year. Donovan McNabb isn't in our stable and the coaches, if they end up with 4 wins let's say, aren't going to go through another crap year breaking in someone new and basically writing their own obituaries.

Maybe they'll put in Allen, but they've handled this whole QB situation terribly this year.

With all that said, I really wish we could have seen Allen and/or Hunt with at least one above-average wide receiver (true WR).
