The lesson the be learned here is we need to stop ripping people who disagree with us up front. I am not a super fan of OPs style with this post, but his base point has something to it and that is- no one knows, and the dissenting opinion of any one person does not mean that it will become fact. Let people disagree. If 99 people think X and 1 thinks Y, it does not make Y any more likely to happen.
It’s more a case of someone being too sensitive, IMO. If you have a take and it’s counter-narrative you should expect feedback (ie ripping)... Sometimes you’re right, sometimes you’re wrong. Roll with it. Can’t be too upset if you truly believe what your saying.
I famously had Shafer’s back after the ISIS comments and was wrong. Guy was losing it. I also thought we’d throttle Maryland. It happens. Have conviction, admit when you’re wrong.
I also have been very pro-Ward in that I thought it stylistically fit nice with the offense (get up, play zone, force TO). Last year it worked, this year not so much - I’m hoping for a more aggressive style DC to match with the O. I was wrong. I don’t regret my conviction from before.
