No one is happy with how the season went.

The D was a major disappointment.

The O took essentially ten games to develop.

But there are positives going into next year.

We have some talented young skill kids playing well. Today we saw our future return game after Riley was removed.

The OL and run game look to be fixed, with the majority of the contributing members coming back.

Tommy played well the majority of the year, not the level we had hoped, but we'll enough to show his growth and development.

I'm confident the D will be fixed next year. There were some personnel changes and I ultimately think a DC switch will happen, with Stanard returning to his prior role.

We return a lot of nice pieces next year. They have shown they can win.

But they need to learn to win consistently.

I am confident we bowl next year.

For those on the edge of a cliff. Take the remainder of the season off. No reason to stress and worry over something you cannot control.

Enjoy the holiday and refresh your mind and spirit. Watch the resurgent and youthful Orange hoops team. Root for the women against Oregon tomorrow.

Relax. The season sucked. It's not much different from the last 20 years. It's frustrating. Ok. Take some time to recharge and we will see you in the off-season.

Go Orange!

Frankly, the OL looks IMMENSELY better, and all but Adams are coming back next year. Tommy hasn't thrown an interception since Holy Cross. We need to stop being so histrionic!

Adams is a Redshirt Junior, I believe. Neal is gone, though.

Meh.

Didn’t care to watch the game, wasn’t surprised at all when I saw the final score.

Anyone want three free tickets to next week’s game?

PM me.

I'm actually scared of the coaching staff, not our players.
The one thing I’ll say is this... he’s not scared to make a move, we just saw that. That’s encouraging.

I do think better days are ahead, and I’m happy with whose at the helm. It does appear we need better support staff though.

We should go 5-7 next year. That will be an improvement.

I'm kind of lost to be honest. I don't want DB to leave and have to start all over but I'm starting to feel like maybe some of the major issues are with him. I really don't know. I get we have a lot of younger players at spots and lack depth in key areas but some of that is on the support staff and some of that is on the HC who's in year 4.

I don't see the offense at all I think everyone expected. I get there are some reasons for that and I'm not blowing those off at all but what we've seen this year isn't even close to what we thought would be the identity of this team.

I'm just going to stop there. Like I said, I'm frustrated and at this point I'm taking some of these big issues out on DB. He's the HC but again, I don't want him to go anywhere, I want him to be successful. But I'm starting to feel like maybe he can't get it done. We haven't been good 3/4 seasons and that's a big deal IMO, especially when season 4 is so bad. I get in CFB things go up and down a lot but we are really bad this year. It feels like the worst parts of Grob, Marrone, and Shafer and I just didn't think that's what things would be like with DB for an entire season.

Really smart CEOs (and I think Dino can be one of them unlike someone we all know) believe that the best way to succeed is to surround yourself with really good people. I have no doubt he is preparing to do that come the end of this season,

What makes you think that better days are ahead...we are right now historically where we have been for the better part of 40 years outside of 5-6 outlier seasons.

What has magically changed that makes me think that any year after this one will be different ?
Is SU fundamentally changing anything?

You do know the definition of insanity right? The only difference here is that the wizard behind the curtain being the SU AD is still making millions off sucker fans like us.

I think between DeVito, Adams, Howard, Jordan, Jackson, Harris, a healthy Nykeim Johnson, Hackett and Benson and the returning OL you should have a good offense.

I think some of the talent on the defensive side of the ball can be more productive under different coaching.

Plus, our OOC next season is extremely soft.

He means Evan Adams on the OL

Yeah, that's what I was referring to. Everyone on the OL is coming back other than Evan Adams.

I personally would feel better about the direction of the Syracuse University Football Program if I knew (which I know I never will) that Dino Babers is going to conduct an honest full blown assessment of every aspect of his program beginning on 1Dec19. He is ultimately responsible for the success or failure of the Syracuse University Football Program. For him to allow chronic problems to exist that inhibit his program from being competitive in the ACC falls directly on him. Almost the entire roster is now his recruits. I believe after 1Dec19 with no bowl this year, the remaining members of the team recruited by Shafer will have exhausted their eligibility. If his recruits are not progressing the way that is needed, that means either they are not being properly developed or they were not evaluated properly as potential recruits. In my humble opinion, I think this year especially has more to do with development than not having an eye on talent. That being said, changes have to be made to the offensive staff and especially on the defensive staff. What he does at the end of 2019 will have a direct impact on 2020 and beyond. If he is honest with himself and seeks outside the program guidance of people in the business he trusts, he will make the necessary moves that will help ensure the program trends up and not further down. If he fails to do the assessment, the program with his name attached will not be successful and that lack of success will fall directly on him. Here's to doing what needs to be done. Go Orange!!!!!

Our OOC schedule was ridiculously soft this year.

We can't win in the league we are in, What are we doing? Seriously What are we doing to change that??

It's not all on Babers, there has to be some help from the AD and the school...

What league are we going to? The AAC? The MAC? If we leave for football, it’s a package deal with basketball. And keep I mind, the quality of recruits we land will be comparable to the league we join. And it’s highly unlikely the Syracuse community supports either program in a lesser conference.
