Some of you need to chill

IMO I would break the ACC up as:

Clemson, FSU
The two premier programs

Miami, VA Tech, Louisville, GA Tech
Good fan support, good football brands, and good local recruiting

UNC, UVA, Pitt, NC State
Decent fan support and decent local recruiting

SU, BC, Wake, Duke
Poor fan support and difficult recruiting due to location and being private

We are at a disadvantage vs the schools outside our tier. We can easily have years as a tier 2 performance wise but we will never be able to sustain it.
i would trade most of the peoples support here for BC's winning ability.

no thats wrong, i would trade everyone here for BC's winning ability.

you can all go sit with the jackarse in his parents basement who created the other thread about how proud he is to not go saturday.

Any recent evidence to support that we can return to what exactly? We had decent seasons but we weren't some powerhouse.

From 81 to 2004 (23 years we had a total of 8 8+ win seasons and exactly 2 since. So in 40 years we have only 25% (10) of those seasons be 8+ wins. Which by the way is 3 more than Rutgers.

Ped State has had 27 in that same span in a far more difficult conference. People wonder why they get better recruits, that's why, as reprehensible as they are, they still get them.

That is incorrect. We had 8 or more wins in 87, 88, 89, 91, 92, 95, 96, 97, 98, 01. Thats 10 times in 15 years. Where are you getting 8 from?

You didnt read the whole thread, I corrected myself a few posts later and it was 9 wins or better from 1980 until now.

Agreed, I think BC recruits pretty damn good. They seem to have quite a few guys in the league and they also seem to mine the ship out of the Northeast prep, Jesuit and Catholic high schools which gives them an advantage in my opinion given their affiliation. They don't seem to ever have a TON of talent at the skill positions but it seems like they have a sent a lot of O Line and Defensive guys to the league over the past 10-12 years. Like the kid the Bills have at linebacker Matt Milano who was a 5th rounder if he played at Syracuse we would be talking about him like he was a young Jack Ham when he played here.

They also always seem to have 2-3 local Syracuse guys on their roster but weren't " good enough" to play at Syracuse. Maybe just me here?? Like I said, they have recruited a lot of schools like CBA throughout the Northeast pretty damn well. They seem to have a pretty clear plan when it comes to recruiting with regard to schools they hit hard

thats a good point.

even if the coaches change, the administrations are still tight, so kids will get a look.

if the Don Bosco, Paramus Catholic or any of the Mass Catholic schools coach hates babers or Cuse, his players arent coming here.

BC is joining them in the classroom.

Yeah, I have always seen it as their niche.. few of Jesuit schools in Ohio and DC/ Maryland area as well

I said this before, putting a roof on a building that requires a roof is not an upgrade. It's just making the building usable which they have to do. Not 1 highly rated kid is going to come here because we put a roof on a building that needed one.

The only reason they are doing a hard structure now is because they waited so long that the teflon roof is obsolete and would cost nearly $40 mil to replace it with the same roof.

Your house has a roof, if you put a new roof on it is that an upgrade? Your car has tires, if you replace the worn tires with new tires, that's not an upgrade. It's just making the car functional.

When they build a $100 million athletic facility and housing for athletes, that will be an upgrade that recruits will be interested in and might get some highly rated kids to give us a look. To date that hasn't happened, it's all been just band-aids.

my god you sound miserable. What is your problem dude? Seriously, Clemson is a better team for you to go root for. It’s just nonstop toxic spewage from you.

The university didn’t have to invest 100+ mil on the dome. A lot of that $$$$ isn’t just the roof, it’s LED lighting, it’s a new movable Jumbotron and sound system, AC and much more.

They could have easily cheaped out and not done those things and gotten a much cheaper roof. Stop acting like we’re UConn. Legit you need to ban yourself from this forum for a while and re-align yourself because this schtick is getting really old, really fast.

The program overall is in a much better position today than it was 2,5, 10, heck even 15 years ago.

Great job! Well said.

OK, let's take this step by step.

1 - I don't care or have to listen to you, nor will I ban myself from the board. I have every right to post that you have and have my own opinions

2 - Let's deal with facts - They couldn't cheap out on the roof any more than they did. They had to go with the roof they selected because replacing the roof as is was 2x as expensive as it used to be and had no advantages. You saw all the renderings that were out there and designs presented...was this the design you would have chosen ? It was nobody's first choice from what was leaked. Is it better than what was on the building, yes. They could have made a big splash and didn't.

What I said about the roof was 100% correct.

3 - Other facts and a question - We have essentially been a mediocre to bad football football team and program since even before Gerg was hired, we were going downhill the last few years of Pasqualoni.

We now have an IPF...that every other P5 program had several years ago. And we are re-roofing a building that needed a roof or it would be useless.

We are paying coaches 2x as much money as we ever have before, private jets for recruiting, larger budget for recruiting, more coaching staff.

The fact is that this program was neglected for the better part of 30 years and we aren't yet to the point where we have a winning record against teams like BC, Wake, Pitt, Louisville, Duke. We have losing records against all of them.

What is our record this year? and not coincidentally 3 of Babers 4 years? GO look at our record against those teams above - you think the program is back ? You had better check again.

I am also not interested in what you think or don't think about really anything. Put me on ignore.

i don’t do that to anyone.

think it’s a stupid feature.

its easier to just have you banned if you wont go away on your own.

I will get in line with the rest of the community that this season was a major disappointment, but my griping ends there. Our coach is the best coach we have had in 20 years (including Coach Marrone). I have complete faith that he will get the o-line fixed and keep our QB in one piece. The defensive play overall has mystified me. I say let the man fix t, coach and I hope his energy and positivity spreads to the doom and gloomers. Heck, I remember when a 4 or 5 win season would be considered a step forward, not a disappointment.

So any member on here can have someone banned ? Great, I have a few I would like to ban too.

My griping was well over with until someone decided to respond to a post from 3 days ago.
