Shafer’s classes featured highly ranked guys who didn’t make it to campus.

All Canadians are “hidden gems” because they don’t get covered like US players, especially in recruiting hot beds.

Jury is out on the Germans, not sure why you feel the need to pooh on them.

WR recruiting has been fine. QB recruiting, despite the worrying is basically what it’s been when ED and Nassib were here.

I feel like the Germans will get us into enemy territory, but will short of the ultimate objective.

We start out next year with Jackson , Jordan, taj, Benson, and Hackett. a flock of other WRs that have great potential not to mention proven RBs in Adams and Howard. I don’t feel that bad. We seemed to have made some improvement on the Oline. We need to find some more pieces in the next few months for depth I have a wait and see approach

There are definitely some good offensive pieces theres assuming no transfers or other attrition. OL needs to show a lot more improvement and we need to get some WR beyond Harris and Jackson but the talent is clear ie Benson and Hackett at TE Howard and Jordan and Adams at RB. We also have guys who red-shirted or who were injured who could make an impact next year like the Canadian WR, the third TE Conners who looked great in the spring game a few years ago but has been hurt, Hendrix, the slot WR from PA who was hurt this year etc. We desperately need another QB and to clean up the issues with Devito/Harris but the offense could be really good next year.

Some of them did, but Bear, Ruff, Trish, Harris and others looked like P5 guys, though Harris is still skinny as hell. LB is the big issue and DT the following year if we can't make some hay here in the next two months. The RB's all looked OK to me, I mean outside of Jordan everyone looked like a P5 back it just didn't translate on the field for a lot of our losses.

Disagree. Trish has the talent but he is a stick. Taj and Riley are sticks. Our RBs aren’t very physical. No matter who we played the other team’s skill guys looked bigger than ours. Wake goes faster than us so I don’t want to hear the we run a lot of players argument. Bear was out the whole year so we had to move our fullback to DT since no one else had size.

Those numbers don't really mean anything. It's been shown a ton of times that there are just more 3 star recruits listed in the database each year as the sites see more kids and rate more kids and it just artificially pumps up the numbers. Our classes have been basically in the same range for about 20 years now and so has our record.

we didn't supply it. they had their own factories mass-producing the pills. troops were writing home to their families begging for more. the doping played a large part in the tide turning. germany had the upper hand until he went crazy and lost his mind with overextending his resources. when you're on meth you think you're invincible.

Nah, every recruit that we get is a gem. All of them. For a decade plus on this board EVERY recruit we have brought in is under rated.

The germans aren't on the meth anymore. It does help with clear thinking, but we should never be at a point where we feel our coaches need this kind of training.

the difference between 5-7 and 7-5 is literally about 3 plays. 7-5 with the oline issues would be a solid yr.

i think history has shown that its takes coaches multiple yrs to change a culture enough to recruit to a higher level if you are not a school with a history to fall back on
