Sports Gambling Thread

First week update. Was up about 25 bucks before that travesty of the rams game; lost about 50 bucks so I’m down 25 now. Doing pretty good though

I made almost $150 on UFC saturday. Ladytroop picked each fight based on looks and “a feeling she gets”. She went 9/10
 
Value in a long shot bet IMO.

Andrew Brunette NHL coach is the year at 100-1.

Yes he could be replaced.

But if he is not Florida fits the profile of a team that wins coach of the year — take a leap up in standings and with a new coach.

Scottie Barnes over at +125 for 13.5 points.

He is 6-3 this year vs that 13.5 number, and is averaging nearly 17 a game.
Also had 25 points last time against Boston.

True he is only averaging 11 points a game the last two. And last game was his worse as the Raps had Siakam back for the first game and Barnes deferred a lot taking only 7 shots. I think a conscious decision will be made by the staff to get his touches up tonight as an adjustment so that a trend doesn’t develop of him being shut out of the offence
 
I know I've been trying to follow this "Don't bet a parlay" rule, but something about college basketball has me thinking 10 team parlays.

Trying to fund some cuse trips over here baby, let's gooooo

Barnes puts up 21 points.
I am now rich.

Barnes will be the main reason I will be watching the Raps this year, who seem to be very mediocre again.

I was going to put $100 down on Barnes to win ROY after his second game against the Celts when he moved from +1200 to +800. I waited a little longer and ultimately got in at +600.

He is now down to +300 and the current betting favourite.

Nice!! I was going to tail you on this, but the Nevada apps didn’t have props for that game. We have limited props on the apps here, I guess to push people into the casino to make bets? Idk. It’s a bummer sometimes

I am 2-0 (sort of) on Scottie Barnes bets posted here.

Here comes #3. Barnes over/under on 2.5 assists. Take the over at -155. I really wish they would have set the over at 3.5 because it would have been over +100 and I would have been all over that (Not an official recommendation but strongly consider betting on him at the 5 assist milestone tonight at +350. )

Why?

Barnes was getting tons of assists in preseason and college, but Nick Nurse has been riding FVV hard at over 38 minutes a game and he has been handling the ball a lot. The Raps don’t really play a backup point in their rotation. Tonight FVV is out and since Toronto is playing Detroit I think Nurse will be using Barnes more as a facilitator.

Also to be considered is Dwayne Casey always had a hard on to stick it to Toronto each time they play. He will want to shut down Barnes to help Cade win ROY. Expect Barnes to get doubled a lot tonight and he will find people.

*** I say 2-0 sort of, because my first recommendation — Barnes ROY at +600 is now paying out as the odds have fell to +250. My regret is that I waited 3 games into the season to get +600. He was +1200 to start and +800 after his strong second game.

3-0 (sort of)
4 assists. But Raptors have an embarrassing loss to Pistons and the Casey. The worst FG% shooting team in NBA History since 1960, shoots 55% from the floor

That being said I am probably going to lay low on some Barnes bets (except maybe assists)... he is slowing down a bit the past few games as teams figure him out, and he struggles creating in the half court / passive.

There is no doubt college football betting is easier than the NFL. I make money nearly every week on college football and then I decide how much (often too much) I want to give back on Sunday.

They have placed his assists back to 2.5 on the over/under... perhaps its Utah? And better yet its +110 today... not -155 like last time.

But it makes no sense if you are following the Raptors.
OG Anunoby is hurt and he handled the ball enough and was a bit of a ball stopper at times.

Now Barnes will get the ball more and one less stopper (of sorts) in the lineup wh clutters the post.

Barnes and the Over 2-5

3 assists in the first 6 minutes as he is much more involved with OG out and the Raptors move the ball with more zip.
