Sports radio question

Its no different than scholies the schools give for kids to do other things on campus too like research and work.
How long will they continue to pay for work study that isnt done? Scholie money comes from something so not playing but getting free schooling isnt gonna happen long term.

Exactly, we can say alllll we want that these kids aren’t employees of the university...however, they 100% are. They just don’t receive a direct check...

So change scholies to pay them a check and have them pay taxes on it. 99% of the kids are better off the way the system works today.

Yep, then as college players they can organize and form a union, and the union can take out union dues. When all is said and done college players will be left with a bill and not a pay check.

Was driving around Saturday and heard this tired debate on some lame radio show for the millionth time and one guy who had no clue was pushing for paying athletes big money not understanding once you pay them they are now employees and not students.

i think unfortunately the majority of the scholarships on campus are football and basketball. If it’s announced they cannot play in 2020-2021 at syracuse bc NY isn’t opened they will transfer. Many won’t stick around educationally if they can play down south even at a lower level
