Former Syracuse DT Steven Clark DQ'd at Western Michigan due to clotting incident
It's amazing that he was disqualified for the same genetic disorder at two different schools and this is the takeaway. I'm no doctor but I don't think anything that happened at SU caused a blood clotting issue. I also don't think you can say that Dr. Tucker and SU were just trying to protect themselves when you're disqualified by another doctor/school for the same condition like eight months later.
"Because of how everything was handled back at Syracuse, there was still residual scarring that I had," Clark said in a phone interview on Thursday.
And in turn, he's more understanding of Syracuse head team physician Dr. James Tucker's decision to disqualify him last year.
"I think he did what's best for him and the University," Clark said, "just because they have to protect themselves, which is understandable. I don't blame them for that."
