I think SU is thinking the same thing.Yowza! UW goes from 3.5 mil/yr. to 12 mil/yr. I gotta think if UW can land this type of deal, why the heck can't Syracuse on their upcoming new deal?
I don't think it's difficult to imagine that finishing 12-2 (and in the playoff) and 10-3 the last 2 years didn't hurt their chances of a big payday.Yowza! UW goes from 3.5 mil/yr. to 12 mil/yr. I gotta think if UW can land this type of deal, why the heck can't Syracuse on their upcoming new deal?
My understanding is that UA is cash strapped.'Cuse and Under Armour makes sense for a couple of [possible] reasons
1. Under Armour's Senior Director of College Sports - 'Cuse grad Nick Carparelli Jr.
2. UA already makes officially licensed Syracuse apparel
3. The ACC only has 1 [2 with Notre Dame] affiliates with Under Armour. Boston College isn't going to move the Northeast needle like 'Cuse would
4. Syracuse fans have been dying for tradition. UA does a great job with traditionally modern football & basketball uniforms while throwing in style now and again. (Check out Texas Tech, BC, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Wiscy, etc.)
5. Syracuse will get PAID by UA. They have 4 of the top 10 deals in the NCAA
Under Armour apparel is awesome too. Big fan. I love Nike but UA is equal to me
My understanding is that UA is cash strapped.
My only worry about UA is will it affect basketball recruiting? The only positive about Nike is the sneakers IMO.
Yeah I don't think they've done any major college sponsorship deals in a couple of years now. Think the UCLA mega-deal in 2016 was their last big one.
Right but I don’t think you’d see cuse (because it wouldn’t be public) announce a deal where they’d get more than 7-8 million a year. UA won’t bat an eye to get a huge basketball program like Syracuse at $7 million a season

UA is a public company though, so terms of any deal would eventually come out, I'd assume.
Deal on standalone would be immaterial to them. That said, they'd announce signing a school away from Nike no matter what!UA is a public company though, so terms of any deal would eventually come out, I'd assume.
I think we're in the mid 3's.True but they wouldn’t have to is my point. I’d guess Nike pays Syracuse 2-3 million per year but I’d think that number goes up to 5-7 either from Nike (preferred under new terms IMO) or Cuse moves on to UA or Adidas.
Nike is obviously the leader in the clubhouse by miles. Would love to stay with Nike but I think everyone on the board agrees some changes need to be made
Excellent!Top 5 consequences of NIKE's sartorial misstep:
1. SU & Illinois to appear in an upcoming People Magazine spread under the Headline: Who Wore It Best
2. Pranked episode: SU & Illinois switch opponents one weekend and no one notices.
3. Asian sweatshop manager fired for textile mishap when identical uniforms produced for 2 different teams.
4. SU & Illinois to form Super Team: The Sillicuse Fighting Illorangeman
5. SU plays Illinois in a bowl game this year and no one knows who to tackle?
