Syracuse Football fined $25k by the ACC

Fran is probably sitting in his office with his coaches laughing at this. He has the "W". He is not letting this bother him one little bit. If you fight it, it becomes a big story. Just pay it and move on to the next game. Practice your faking a bit better this week. That is all folks.
Reporters are going to ask him about it, right? Let's see what he says.

My guess here is the conference already had the skeleton of the release written about SU mid last week with a placeholder to fill in on the play to highlight. Seriously, we must have known this was a high possibility to be coming.

That said, I rewatched the games and watched specifically for Rickie’s incomplete passes (I was happy that on my eyes only 1 was a bad / ill advised throw) and fake injuries. And this one was the only one I saw - and it sure as hell didn’t hurt Clemson as the scored a TD the very next play. This was like a lifetime achievement award, OK, that is if the season thus far can be a lifetime. It was coming to us at some point no matter what.

However, the Whitney-B*tching by the Clemson QB is something I would have hated our QB doing. Especially when it really happened ONCE in the game and immediately was followed by a TD pass. Just a horrible look.

Was there a rule once that said you had to stay out the entire half?
yes twice

Players removed for a substitute were lost to their teams for the duration of the half (until 1932) or quarter (until 1941).

returned to the one-platoon system for 1953, gradually liberalizing substitution rules until a full return to two-platoon football was made in 1964.

Thats the reason you see so many of those guys in that period like Jim Brown kicking extra pts.

That’s not the point here. The point is every other team in the nation does it every week, and have been for far longer than I have been born. And yet we’re the ones to get fined for it. Syracuse is the black sheep of the ACC, we will never be accepted there. It’s comprised of rich elitist rednecks and they clearly don’t like us and never will. When are Tennessee going to be fined? Because we all know that clearly isn’t going to happen. Like someone said in this thread earlier, we got punished for beating Clemson @ Clemson. See you in hell Klubdick

And the ACC brass when Clemson bolts the conference in a few years: "...but remember when we fined Syracuse for you after they beat you in Death Valley and your quarterback complained?? We've always had your back... that has to be worth something!"

Clemson Brass: "Thanks for the memories..."

I just got into my hotel in Miami Beach on a work trip.

Get into the elevator, look up and realize Fran Brown in staring back at me.

It’s this story on a video screen, lol.

What was the official statement that Fran mentioned that Syracuse issued ?

It would be easier to be upset if it wasn’t for the time vs Tennessee when not one but two of our dbs simultaneously looked at the sideline and dived, only for one of them to realize and instantly pop back up. We clearly tell guys to do that (like virtually every other program) so let’s climb back down off our high horse.
I don't have time to rewatch the Tennessee game, but it became a flopping contest, and I contest that Tennessee flopped more but were better at it. I do admit that two at once showed lack of proper coaching on this endeavor.

Fran should have said in the presser:

“Nissi Ogbebor and Kevin Jobity (the two players down that resulted in the fine) sustained minor lower body injuries in the 4th Quarter, but were able to continue in the game. They are both day-to-day, but fully expects them to play on Saturday against Duke.”

That way he would have been indirectly stating that the fine is BS without actually saying it and risking another fine.
