This is in no way meant to overshadow the real tailgate down at Fine. Those guys are pros, I've been to their tailgates and the food is phenomenal, the guys are great, and it's probably the best tailgate scene SU has to offer. That being said, I'd love to start a skytop group. Nothing fancy, just like to have a few beers with the guys on here who don't go to Fine. I still go to skytop because it's best for my kids. They have the fields up there to throw the ball around, they love taking the bus past Manley and the Carmelo Center. And it's alot less walking for the 5 year old. Anyone who wants to stop by can try my home-brew but be warned, this isn't yellow fizzy beer. It's strong and hoppy, just like I like it. If you're interested PM or just reply to this thread. I'll have a small charcoal grill working burgers/dogs/chicken most likely but haven't finalized a menu yet either. Going to depend on whether there is any interest. I'll be there by noon, hope some of you are too.

Pretty sure there is a group of people on here who tailgate at Manley, I remember reading one of there posts from last year. Nothing wrong with tailgating at Manly but as you noted the Fine lot is where its at. I strongly encourage you to make at least one tailgate there this year.

Pyle - been tailgating at skytop for a long while and usually have a decent size crew.

I'll pm you Saturday and try and stop over, or visa-versa.

We should be there between 10:30 and 11. We don't go back into the big lot/gras but stay in the smaller lot up front.

Skytop can be a great place to tailgate. Four of us have been talking about doing something on Saturday but we don't have a small grill. We were going to bring sandwiches and chips and beverages of course. Let me know your approximate location and we will join you.

I think 690W is the Mayor of tailgating at North Manley.

Pyle you will be the Mayor of tailgating at Skytop. Recruit your minions.
Yes sir, just got off my conference call with my committee . Should be a good turnout Saturday. 10:00am go time

First Rule of building a tailgate group. Set a consistent location if possible. Second Rule: Organize beforehand and get cell phone numbers.

It is helpful to have something to identify your tailgate like a flag or banner.

Awesome...you and Pyle should get a board tailgate group going.

We have an orange SU tent (is there another kind) and numerous games, footballs, etc going on with music and a charcoal grill. So, hard to miss.

Thought about printing a sign like jsorange made for PSU to further identify.

I'm all seriousness, folks just need to turn left after going through the pay booths and you can't miss us.

Let's get it started

The wife and I are coming over from Rochester Saturday morning. Some friends from Syracuse are in town and are going to the game with us. Will be getting there kind of late because we've got to go see their baby (priorities I know), but will definitely look out for you guys

My crew typically tailgates at Skytop. As you go up the hill from the back part of Skytop, we usually set up camp immediately to your left from the "toll booths". Right at the softball fields where the giant bushes immediately to your left from the "toll booths". We usually have about 20+ season ticket holders there. We should be there around Noon or so.

Won't be a great crew this game or next because my boyz have some wedding stuff to go to but we will do the best we can.

When the ground gets soggy late in the season, we move closer to where the buses pick up. Kinda where the turnaround is.

We always tailgate at skytop. Usually in the smaller lot to the left. Back the car up to the grassy area next to the road in the center, get the grill and beers out, and get it going.

So, we are opposite the lot from you. Park at the tree line.

My grill is open to anyone. If you want to do more than just sandwiches then feel free to use it. If anyone's looking for me...I'll be in the grass near the port-a-johns. Light green Chevy Trailblazer EXT. Small football shaped grill. There will be a SU window flag flying and i'm hoping I have enough room to put up my canopy(it's a tan Ozark Trail) but it's 10x10 so not sure if the logistics will work out on that one. Will also have my SU Basketball Championship blanket as a table cover with my SU gnome as the centerpiece. Small landmarks I know but they will be consistent.

ive been tailgating off E. Adams behind the old hsbc bank ( CURRENTLY first niagara ) for probably 20 years now. Its always free parking and its a small but fun area. Havent tailgated at Skytop in a long long time but i remember it being a huge area and fun tailgating. Sadly ive never been to the Fine lot because i only park on that side of the Dome for Lax and every now and then BBall games.
