Class of 2024 TE Michael Smith (GA) Portal flip to Ole Miss

We got a te from transfer portal from wku who actually produced. I bet Smith flops, he's quit on multiple teams, not a recipe for success
Give me production over potential. WKU kid actually did it, this kid is all “potential” and how many of those players have shined for us? Meeks is the only one who really pops to me as a transfer who didn’t produce but had potential and capitalized. I’m sure I’m missing a few, but it seems like the best transfers are the ones who actually produced to some degree at their former universities. Think McCord as the obvious example.

McCord was at Ohio State. He wasn't stepping up from a G5.

We've had quite a few FCS/G5 kids come in and fail to make an impact because it's a big step up.

I hope the WKU kid can produce like he did there at SU. But I'd also be surprised if Smith doesn't perform at Ole Miss.

I know that we've had discussions on this before (probably in this thread), but we've had more than a few WRs who have come in on potential and succeeded. Amba Etta-Tawo is the first that comes to mind.
