It's hard to evaluate our team through a critical lens after playing Tennessee. I think Angeli showed a lot of poise. Yasin is a beast. Tennessee's pass rush was scary. Our team has a lot of heart.

If this defense can be even mediocre at best, this could be a really good team. But I’m not sure that’ll happen with Robinson as the DC.

He doesn't have the players, what do u want him to do. I guess he can recruit, supposedly..

QB thought. I don’t think Angeli will ever be a reason we lose a game but I don’t think he has top end talent to ever be the reason we win a game. Have to run the ball and play solid defense. Last year our defense was terrible and McCord could use his arm to bail the team out that isn’t going to happen this year regardless if it is Angeli or Collins. Our season will hinge on the defense not QB this year. ERob needs to step up or get replaced.

Tennessee has a superb defense ranked 6 tho in the country last year while playing in the SEC. I think we’re a much better team than you think we are. There was a few times where the SU Oline manhandled them in the run game.

There offense was ranked 6th nationally. This is a fantastic program and they might actually be the best team we play.

Well he is known to be one of the best recruiters so I would expect us to have talent but finding out that there is a difference from a recruiter that can recruit any place with any bank like Fran and then people who can only recruit with a factory school and wallet behind them hopefully ERob doesn’t end up being the latter

To answer it, no of course not. IT's week one with a bunch of new pieces against a huge spread out offense that is very difficult to defend against. They clean up a few plays and it would have been a bit closer.
They appear to be about a 7ish win team which with our schedule it is a fine season.

Notre Dame has immense talent on D, it’s their QB situation that is the unknown.

Angeli wasn't the problem, he played well I thought, as did the offense on the whole. But on the other hand there were several drives that could have been extended with a mobile QB. Going to have to extend plays against good opponents.

Yes for now their is a gap but we've closed it very quickly
Defense can out played by a great offensive scheme and a few more plays, they will be better then last year

Outside of the ball security, for his first game in that environment I thought Angeli was fine. He is not McCord, and today was a tall order. He shows good composure and sees the field well.
I expect he will speed up his processing and get the ball out quicker as the season progresses. Tennessee was teeing off with a multiple score lead the entire game.
My concern is with the run defense and defensive play calling.

Nixon generated 62 yards on 11 touches. Not awful.

If you give Willis all of Nixon's workload, he gets 33 touches and will never last the season.

Willis is awesome. Nixon is good too.

Nixon looked great last year before getting injured. He didn’t look bad today but didn’t shine like Willis did.
