The all-inclusive Rutgers dumpster fire thread...

And yet some continue to post on the Rutgers thread.
Hey, like I've repeatedly said, I've long come to terms with this thread.
Never quite understood the logic of those who say:"If you don't like it, then don't post", what with this being a message board where we're free to express our opinions and all. JMHO

To paraphrase Bill Shakespeare: "Methinks some doth protest too much".
If Rutgers is so irrelevant and such a joke, then why do some spend so much time here riding their jocks?
Another wise man once said: "The opposite of love is not hate, it is indifference".
Rutgers is not worthy, nor have they earned, any of our emotions, be it love or hate. They deserve our indifference. Anything more than that works to their advantage. JMHO

Nice turn, but it's this crazy hoop jumping with Shakespearean quotes to get to a complicated overwrought argument on your end that speaks to some weird motive.

I just like to laugh at funny things.

It’s not that serious, Dude. IMO, you just don’t get it. Let’s agree to disagree and leave it at that.

Hey, we're hosting a playoff game this Friday. We're not that bad!

You went to Old Bridge? Didn't mean to knock them, know their doing well now, but in the past they haven't been a football power. We used to play them in Lacrosse.

my wife had her 50th hs reunion at south river a few weeks ago. yes,1967 football team was honored and joe theisman (sp) was there. she had a great time.sje grew up with him, and thats all i heard for years from her father, after we were married. reunion lasted for 2 days.
i stayed home, people need that time for themselves and their friends as i was not from that town. i learned about old bridge, spotswood etc and was impressed with the cohesiveness of the towns.
i really miss the rye bread from south river.

I have family from Spotswood.

Won't happen. Not when it's a 35 mile trip for Rutgers fans and 240 miles from Syracuse.
1hr from my house, feel free to stay here 4 free. i go to su games 3.5 hours and stay at my brothers in camillus.

No, I live here now. I grew up in Cuse. My kids' little league coach (and my 15 year old's history teacher) is the head football coach.

The majority of my students go to high school at Spotswood.

back in the day they went to south river hs,per my wife.
Yup, my father lived in New Brunswick and graduated from South River, so I suppose it was a "regional" back then.

Oh, I get it. You think having a thread = elevating Rutgers. When it really just means it's fun to laugh at an old foe who seems to "step in it" all the time.

Exactly. And I recognize that there are 2 legitimate perspectives to this situation, so... c’est la vie.

The perspectives would be Rutger's and Everyone Else', right? :)

Oh, wait, Rutger's perspective isn't legitimate.

Mahoney's first two throws of the game eclipsed Rutgers total passing yards today. lol

Rutgers threw for 43 yards today.

I feel slightly better.

43!!!! How is that possible in 2017?

I like to pile on RU as much as the next guy, but when its all said and done, they are 4-6 just like we are. Yeah yeah yeah, we beat Clemson, no one will remember that next year or the next. If we dont win another game this year it will be considered a fluke just like many upsets from other teams in other decades before them.

Right because no one still talks about beating Nebraska back in 84 ...

People will remember beating Clemson. Strongly disagree there. Rutgers doesn’t have a win like that in their entire history. All 4-6’s are t created equal. The lower tier Big Ten teams are trash this year, while the lower tier ACC teams that we play are very competitive this year. Not to mention the OOC difference.

The hardcore and casual SU football fanbase will remember, of course. But the college football fanebase wont. Nor will they know that we went 4-8 with the hardest ACC schedule. They'll just know we went 4-8, after going 4-8 and 3-7 and etc.

We have to follow the Duke, MD, RU scheduling, start EVERY SEASON 4-0 and build on that. Enough with these "close" losses.
