The all-inclusive Rutgers dumpster fire thread...

Where is this coming from? I doubt Georgia has focused on NJ.
DMV thru NJ is no man's land, no program own's it. Georgia can easily out recruit the B1G and the ACC there now. Another sign of utter SEC dominance.

They didn't need Fran Brown to outrecruit the B1G/ACC lol

Georgia wants Jersey recruits.
Who doesn't? I thought they are over-rated and picked through. Perhaps they are remembering Knowshon Moreno, or they are tired of watching Bama take guys like Minka Fitzpatrick.

Looks like continued dumpster fires for RU football for at least the next decade. Why a shame.

On the positive side, their basketball team should be pretty good until they lose Pikell once the season ends.

Enjoy it while it lasts RU fans.
Does he take a dream job at UConn? Swap NJ Hurley for CT Pikell? Is this Boeheim's replacement? I am totally agitating with that last one.

Yes, but that gives them a huge leg up over the other SEC teams that want recruits from there. Everywhere they recruit in the south, they are going against other superpower SEC programs.

This I agree with wholeheartedly. That said, this does strike me as interest in digging deeper into the NE (read DMV to NYC)

I'll hold celebrating until I see whom Greg replaced him with.

But from where we sit right now, it's definitely a plus for not just us, but BC and Pitt as well that Fran moved on. We aren't competing in NJ for the level of recruit Georgia will target.

This, for the moment, wobbles Rutgers in their backyard. Fran had a lot of positive relationships and vibes instate. Greg is not universally loved in NJ.

Again - it'll depend on whom they replace him with, but this is potentially a big development.

They want to own it.
So, they have decided they want to completely change their recruiting strategy, and the giveaway is they hired Fran Brown?

Georgia has had, in the last 3 years, 1 (count 'em 1) NJ player on their roster each year.

Bold move, Bulldogs. Bold move.

Fran was directly involved in getting each of their 4 star commits this past cycle. They are not getting someone of his caliber. Unless Partridge or Elijah Robinson want to move back home and make less money and coach at a trashy rutgers program.

Hey Kirby, you and your Georgia Bulldogs just won the national championship, what are you going to do now?

"I'M GOING TO JERSEY!!!!"

No reason for Clark to transfer to SU but they want our coach? Lol.

The good news is, they probably save money by paying new CB coach less than $700k a year ...
Soooooooooooooo, instead of the $73MM deficit that ran last year, they will now run a $72.5MM deficit. Progress wherever you can get it, I guess.

He's been reading this thread and found us to be more accurate than the AD and accounting departments. We could have save NJ about a cool billion $$$$ had they followed this thread many years ago.

If you look at who is out there, has a background recruiting the East and that we could get, he surely must be on JW’s short list of candidates.

They have people doing recruiting analytics and this is were their analysis led them to keep a strategic advantage in the SEC. So yes, it is forward thinking.

Im sure Georgia will take a couple of NJ top 5 kids but the state of Georgia alone is better than NJ. I bet Kirby would have him focus more on DMV area.

Georgia is better, but Alabama, Florida, LSU and the others can get at Georgia recruits. If any of those schools pull a plan A recruit away down there they will get a guy up in DMV-NJ to replace him instead of getting a lower rated guy in the South. This is really going to hurt PSU and other top B1G powers as they thought that was their territory when they added RU and UM. PSU is probably really spinning, which is nice.

And Georgia get their recruits as well. They all have Fran Browns on their staff. There has been plenty of the Fran Brown types at those schools, plucking some of the top players in the East region. This is nothing new for PSU. You are right about the UM's and Ohio st's. It makes it tougher to pull from the East if Georgia has Fran fighting for kids.
