Man too bad we can’t get them all over here once they complete the hospital. The dome would be done by July 4th.

I have no doubt the dome project is far more difficult than a one story building even accounting for all the medical equipment inside. 4,000 workers here wouldn’t necessarily speed things up a lot.

Stadium Roof Project: The contractor is continuing the installation of the steel crown truss, working to complete the north side of the building. With both the west and northeast cranes in operation, material deliveries continue along Irving Avenue and Forestry Drive. To support the crown truss installation, a long-term closure of Forestry Drive is planned from Sunday, Feb. 2, into spring 2020. This closure will extend from Campus Drive (to the west) across to the Barnes Center at The Arch (to the east). See the SU News article for more information. Roof installation is planned to begin in the spring. The project team continues to coordinate all aspects of the construction to ensure that events proceed seamlessly. The construction area is extremely busy at this time; if you are driving or walking on campus in the construction area, please pay careful attention to flaggers and construction workers. Pedestrians traveling from Sadler Hall and Lawrinson Hall should observe and follow pedestrian signage. For additional information regarding the pedestrian route, visit the site impact and closures webpage. Please also note that the Stadium is closed to walkers due to construction activities around the building.

Didn't notice the truck delivery - looks like the same cab as yesterday. Can't see what's on the trailer from the live cam - (it's 4:00 P.M. straight up)- unless the orange tractor pulls forward so I can see the load - if there is one.

There were two trucks yesterday. The first one left after a bit and the second carried the truss that was put up today.

Forestry Drive being closed means to more passenger drop offs at Gate A?

Missed the first one - saw the mondo trailer with orange cab that brought the very large box girder that is now up. So this could be any random cab.

You're lucky. I heard mention of a second truss so went back through the video. There indeed was a second truck that pulled up ready to unload, unhooked the trailer, then came back after a bit, hooked up again, and left. The truck that carried today's puzzle piece was second in line. The cabs were very similar.

Wonder if that's just vehicle traffic or for everyone. That would make ingress and egress for the UNC game pretty miserable.

The crane operators must like sitting for very long periods of time considering what their job is. Like today the operator of the crane on the Hendricks Chapel side has had the next spiral column hanging from its collar for some time now waiting for the crew(s) to finish work on the new girder. That's a lot of weight hanging for hours. I have never seen a yellow attachment collar close up but they must be secured very well through the steel maybe. ?

There goes the load - it looked like a very large square piece of some kind covered by a red shroud or canvas?

That wasn't the second load from yesterday, but perhaps it was unloaded by the other crane. It was another box truss, however it was on a smaller truck.

It looks like they are trying to get that spiral in place next to the northeast grouping. Not sure if it is the same vertical as the one installed and taken down, but they have been trying to get it in place for some time now.

I have a feeling the crew is going to be working late today/tonight trying to install the spiral to support the new box girder. Lights on to help the crew see to install the spiral column when ready.

I would think that they might have been ahead of schedule, given the weather. Perhaps because of delivery timing, they could not move ahead as much as the weather would have allowed.
Also, What to I know about construction.

I have never seen Walt's boom lights on before. It lights one side of the Dome making it look like it 's painted white - also the ground near the end of the entry drive to the main yard is very bright.

It's 7:19 PM and I just looked to see what you were talking about. Looks to me like they still have crew members walking around that area!

Both sides still have active work going on. That's more than likely why you see those lights tonight.
