Even when Duke and UNC had bad years (talking the Coach K "bad back" season, there were plenty of empty seats. Maybe Notre Dame football might be an exception?

ive been watching cuse for decades...this is an unwatchable product if you care about logic or common sense. Decisions made by coaches and players are ridiculous. We are underachievers and the dumbest team in the NCAA. Its an insult to our intelligence for anyone to expect fans to support this garbage. I gave up watching after the Miami game this year. You are correct. But in 2026, college basketball roster construction is largely based on how much NIL you can give current college and European players…..Much less about HS seniors.

The right hire, combined with NIL backing, can get this program competitive very quickly. The stands will be filled February 2027 if the new coach has it looking better

If this was 2006 I’d be more concerned about what you’re saying. Even if we got the right coach, you are relying on HS kids to rebuild your program and that is an absolute crapshoot

I think they'd get more people showing up even when bad if things weren't so expensive. It's a way to spend a couple hours.

I cannot speak to BBall but I do think that the FB games became less collegiate and more minor league baseball like. And also more corporate. That isn't so much a JW thing as a college sports in the 2020s thing.

Agreed. I didn’t go and I live 18 minutes away on a normal drive. It was a complete whiteout on 690 in Baldwinsville at 6pm last night. Some who went early or right from work said they had a foot of snow on the ground when they got home.

I had season tickets for 20 years between being a student up there and the years following that. Roads and terrible weather were never an issue when the team was winning. We’d still pack in 20k for a weeknight conference game with zero visibility outside and a foot of snow waiting upon being blown out the Dome exit doors.

It was a factor last night because this is year 5+ of mediocrity and the team was 13-11 heading into the game. If we were 20-4 going into last night, the crowd absolutely shows up.

I was very dumb and went to the game. Paid for it by getting stuck in the driveway when I got home. Car would go a foot; I would shovel. Car would go a foot; I would shovel. Repeat about 10 times.

But I do get a little zing when there’s a game and also snow. It’s a bit of an adventure!

Last night the students didn’t show. They have been great the last few games but not showing up for this game spoke miles.
