Any odds on whether we'll see that again on Tuesday? Ugh.

Unfortunate irony that Rob Murphy has to return in the middle of this mess.

i bet we don't

Gonna go ahead and assume it'll never happen again.

They wont leave the seat open anymore but maybe we'll get the initials "BF" on the jerseys.

I think it is fair to say if there is an empty chair there again the coach next it wont be back for the next game. The University (Cantor and BOT) made a statement and there is NO going against it. One Message from here on out.

i said it in another thread - just remove the chair from the dome completely and shorten the bench (JB likes to do that anyways)

nah time to get rid of the empty seat. it might actually be a good time for murphy to return, he can assuage some of the players he recruited. i think he would do that.

We did not see it in NYC at the two NIT games. Surely would not have seen it this week

You think he'd leave his first head coaching job to be an assistant at SU again to help us out of a jam? Really?

My question was really a rhetorical one. The answer is fairly self evident.

The issue that I was thinking of was...how that symbolic gesture, in retrospect, looks like not the best gesture from a public relations standpoint. Given how this bizarre story has been playing out.

I think he just meant it by chance is a good time for him to return to the Dome and might talk to the SU players to help them out

Ah, that makes sense, though I'm not sure how much time Murph would have for that.

why not Hop sits there since he is coach in waiting...seems reasonable...otherwise get rid of the seat or place a bag of coal on it

i just meant that he was here and will likely be able to have a word with the players, players that respect him
