They might. But it was a game plan install, I don’t know if it’s a philosophy shift for the rest of the year. Although, given the health of our quarterbacks, it’s certainly seems like a possibility. We had tues-wed-thur for this install.. Maybe they can run it 10-20% better with another week of practice and oline meshing it better.

Yep, it also helped that Pitt is a complete dumpster fire right now. GT isn’t great but they’re a lot better than Pitt and their bowl hopes are on the line Saturday. We’re going to have to be able to complete a forward pass to have a chance.Do you really think it’s gonna be that hard to stop? The guy behind center is taking the snap and running straight ahead.
The o-line can run block pretty well. Pass blocking is much more difficult and I think they have taken a lot of negative press about being an ineffective unit and want to go out and just bulldoze a defensive line to take out their frustration.Do you really think it’s gonna be that hard to stop? The guy behind center is taking the snap and running straight ahead.
The hope is the fact the GT has not stopped the run on almost anyone this year While Pitt has stopped a bunch of teams from running..Yep, it also helped that Pitt is a complete dumpster fire right now. Pitt has the 4th worst rushing defense in the ACC. They give up over 150 on the ground. The hope is the fact the GT has not stopped the run on almost anyone this year While Pitt has stopped a bunch of teams from running..
I never said GT was good at stopping the run, just pointing out you saying Pitt stopped “a bunch of teams” wasn’t correct. Pitt isn’t some elite team that you can’t even think about running on. They were a 2-7 team with nothing to play for and had been giving up big games on the ground all year.and Gt has give up 250 to Clemson. 310 to BC, 270 to UNC, 200 to wake, 300 to miss, 200 to scar st 230 to UL.
so Pitt allowed one team over 200 and Gt 7..
Pitt is 83 in rushing defense.. GT is 129.. Only N. Texas is worse..
Pitt was top 50 before our game in stopping the run.

Cincy had 216 on the ground, WVU had 151, VT had 200, Wake had 172, ND had 155, FSU had 138. They stopped Wofford, UNC, Louisville.
when under 150 makes you a decent run defense that means 50% of the time they did well and only one team going over 200.. 150-200 is not a big game on the ground.I never said GT was good at stopping the run, just pointing out you saying Pitt stopped “a bunch of teams” wasn’t correct. 5th because they held Wofford to -1 in the first game of the year. Besides that game and the other 2 I mentioned, nobody had a problem running on Pitt this year. They were 5th until we put 382 on them.
YUP.. They were a decent middle of the road run defense. They were 5th until we put 382 on them.
even VT who ran for 199 ran it 60 times so just over 3 ypc. Thats really hard to sustain a 3 ypc and still move the chains.5th because they held Wofford to -1 in the first game of the year. Besides that game and the other 2 I mentioned, nobody had a problem running on Pitt this year.
Their starting RB averaged 4.5 YPC their backup RB averaged 3.8, their QB brings down the YPC average due to sacks and like plays counting against the rushing yards and yards per carry (for some reason.)even VT who ran for 199 ran it 60 times so just over 3 ypc. Thats really hard to sustain a 3 ypc and still move the chains.
A bit more passing from VillarrI and it could work against the 120 ranked d in the country. Their offense is good so we need a great defensive game. They might. I expect Dan will be passing the ball out of this formation.Do you really think it’s gonna be that hard to stop? The guy behind center is taking the snap and running straight ahead.
