The QB's

I'll say it again. What happened after last season? Dino went out and hired a new OC and DC. The program also brought in Ryan Bartow to direct improved recruiting efforts.

Dino is not waiting around. He's being proactive. This is the insane season from hell. Things will be fine. I trust Dino to continue to make the changes he needs to improve the program.
There is some evidence for your faith ;), not enough for me to convict yet. but I have 0 knowledge of anything other than the circumstantial evidence I watch on Saturday's.

Sour grapes ? I haven’t been commenting on this trash because it’s cluelessness. The NC state game was Tommy’s first game after the cracked rib cartilage ( first time I’m detailing the actual injury ) it’s a very rare injury it’s the part where the rib attaches it’s allows for expansion anytime you breath or move this cartlidge expands . The slightest movement he saw stars ! His exact words ! Kid had to take huge needles directly into his ribs to play. They had to hold his hand ! To practice and let alone on game day . The injury was so rare only 3 NFL players ever had it and the all went on injured reserve! Not my son ! Toughest kid you will find ! So that was the first game and the needle didn’t take effect until the 2nd half so he just went down at any sign of trouble and he still got hit ! After that they gave him the shots earlier and it was a little better. If anybody has had a rib injury they know you fear coughing let alone playing power 5 Qb and behind the worst line in the country no less . So now u know. I’m not mad at you I’m not mad at any of you because you have zero idea about anything especially the Qb position. That’s what he dealt with a injury so rare , so painful and for what to hear crap like this ? Let’s delve into this year . First 2 games 2 very good teams we trot out 2 guards who never played with us . An unproven rb who probably gets moved to the slot , 2 new WRs with no experience, covid ( yes other teams have that) first games for the OC , we drops all over and pass interferences not called . Tommy in those 2 Games picked up 5 first downs with his legs yes now you know he can run ( could not last year with injury) so all that and it Tommys fault again ?? Lol
His last two games the line improved, still drops , tucker emerged and Tommy played well and than wham broken ankle . It’s a shame coach , agents , scouts all know he is going to the nfl sooner or later but go ahead live in your delusional thoughts because they just aren’t true . Good news Tommy got the boot off and is walking problem free . Today’s my bday can’t wait for my presents but that’s a great present right there. And just in case you nevet saw it here’s the smoking gun ...
Where do we rank in Qb support?? Where ?View attachment 191261
Mr. D - A lot of fans still have a great deal of confidence in your son’s ability, and the prospect that this team will pull it all together. But I can’t imagine how frustrating it would be for you to be reading this board. There are fans here who say things - much of which is nonsense, much of which is based on years of watching SU and CFB. I just think no good can come from you reading this board. There are a lot of great SU fans. But don’t put yourself through this. Best of luck to you. Oh, and happy birthday!

Happy Birthday Redrum. Hope you get another present and Tommy is able to play again this season.

I would love to see what Tommy can do with an improved OL (Dakota should start playing a lot now), improved play from the WRs and a well rested and fully healthy Sean Tucker at RB.

Call me crazy but I think it is all coming together now.

Happy Birthday to you man!

Happy Birthday Redrum . Hope you have a great day. I wish you didnt come on this board to read comments. Especially on a day like today. You are going to get a variety of opinions. Opinions from people that dont have a personal connection to you or your family. They care about wins and losses. There will always be people that think you are trying to get sympathy and there will be some who are understanding of the struggles. People are gonna be honest on here. I expect that, that's what makes this forum beneficial for me. Like I said before, whether its good or bad comments its just not good to comment here. Keep your circle short. Enjoy your day bud.

Sounds like Dad has a bad case of sour grapes and could use a reality check as I doubt any major Power 5 schools are beating down the door for 5th year Tommy Devito. I get that Dad cares about Tommy as his top priority but Dad isnt being honest with himself if he can't see that Tommy is a part of SU's struggles at qb.

I was quick to blame the OL for his struggles last season until i saw the team play at NC State. He had to have been sacked 6-7 times and almost all of them were on him. WR's and RB's were open downfield and he struggled locating them. Granted he did not have all the time in the world but he seemed to take his 3 steps back and either turtle or lock onto one receiver. Hoping he comes back but the program would definitely survive the loss of Devito. I actually think SU will be much improved next year with all these young guys getting quality pt. SU should definitely look to the portal for a Qb to either replace, or at a minimum, compete for the starters role.
And btw Tommy has plenty of power 5 teams interested in his services . Tommys fraternity of QBs , and people in the circuit is tremendous and very far reaching . you can take your foot out of your mouth anytime you want unless you enjoy that kinda stuff

I might have to make a list of Tommy haters so if he comes back next season and balls I can have some fun

People have the right to their opinion based on what they currently see. Im sure all us would love to eat crow if it means TD performing well and us winning games next year.
I agree. I’m speaking more about people questioning his heart and toughness. The kid hasn’t given anyone a reason to question that about him.

I think we would have a great shot to outgun Ville next week with Devito. I went to the game last year.

I don't think we have a prayer with Morgan.

I also think we beat BC if we stuck with Rex.

I hope Tommy gets healthy and improves and is primed to have a big senior season, the freshmen keep developing, AND we land a transfer that can play.

Would be nice to have a few QBs who can play, given that I can’t remember the last time we had a starter take every important snap. Maybe Nassib’s senior year?

We need depth.

Agreed. Tommy, sophomore Morgan (with a full spring and summer), and a solid transfer is the kind of 3 deep you should have at the P5 level.

I’m still very confident that TD can produce at a high level behind a competent offensive line. But iron sharpens iron and you need depth to compete in college football.

Throw in a solid recruit in Lamson, and you have yourself a decent quarterback room.

And said scenario would put us in good shape for the following season with Morgan as a junior and said dream transfer who can play engaging in competition for the starting job.

I try to go back to FSU and UNC in 2018 with DeVito. We had a decent line and strong team that year, and he was solid and mistake free against FSU, and then lit it up when we needed him to against UNC. Gives me hope he could play like that if we could give him that help again.

On paper, our OL, RBs, and WRs would all seem to project to be better next year than they have the last couple years.
