Why is he a lock to startI mean if Benny comes back he is starting next year.
Jimmy isn’t even a lock to be back.
Buddy can come back for sure.

We have 3 forwards now both Seniors. Why is he a lock to start
I mean, what, does JB have some kind of dirt on the University of something? It's to late for that, the AD has no say over when JB leaves now. He gave that option away when he let JB force HOP to leave.
The only way JB leaves now is when he decides he wants to leave. A problem with that is whoever the new coach is JB will always be there.
Just park at MLK school or similar. Lots of free parking down there.I used to have zero problem finding a small lot for $10. Now there’s nothing. Garage for $20 or $25 or something, smh.
This is a really naive take.
To be fair, these are two totally unrelated claims.I’ve been called “kid” because I said Duke was going to smash us and now called “naive” in asserting that if the university and AD absolutely relinquished their roles that it is a clear dereliction of their duties as it pertains to this situation.

No big surprise Duke crushed us. Your second claim was an assumption ("if"). Even "if the university and AD absolutely relinquished their roles", dereliction of duty is kind of a hyperbolic statement.
Sorry. You're wrong.No. It isn’t.
If JB was given full control of his leaving SU, that is exactly what it is.
He isn’t a god. He’s not close to a saint.
He’s a basketball coach.
If he gets this team to the ncaa’s it will be a bonafide miracle. Then he would only need 1 more to be considered for sainthood.No. It isn’t.

Doesn’t have to.
JAB can very easily ride off into the sunset after this year, saying that ”it was always a dream to be able to coach one son, and it became an even greater dream when things aligned to be able to have both. That has been a joy, even though we had hoped for better results. But, this experience is something that any father would embrace and cherish. With that now realized, I can step away to enjoy life with my phenomenal wife and put my trust in the AD to secure the next era of Syracuse basketball.”
Simple. Nothing ugly about that. Even if we don’t win another game this year. This year was earned. Or, it was a gift from the AD and the fan base. Whatever. This is the graceful exit point. Another year or more is selfish greed.
[I’m not optimistic this is going to be how it happens. But This is the way.]
Well, I don’t work for the AD, so I’m not within those walls. But, I also consider myself a relatively successful professional and even if I just had a paper route, I would still come to this conclusion:
If this is true, that JB has 100% final edit on the movie of his tenure at SU, then SU, and the respective professionals that hold positions of power within, has been grossly negligent in its responsibility to the program and the university.
He has two probations, one screwed up transition plan and a number of other items that I would put in the “not great, Bob” box.

I can only hope someone up on the hill supports the program more than some on this board support Boeheim.
Portal. JBIII and Swider came via the portal this season. If they leave, that's lots of minutes available for transfers. We have 3 forwards now both Seniors.
Neither is a lock to return.
If Benny comes back he would be the only returning forward. I have no confidence that any freshman can play right away now until they show it on the court.

Jim pushed Hop aside for his own self interest. Hes not going to walk away after this season because someone tells him to. I think hes going to coach 2-3 more years.About this season, the make up of the team, everyone coming back next year and if it’s time.
The questions will not be posed to JB, but the post standard will ask Wildhack post season. They are not going to subject Mike or Donna to the wrath of JB at a presser. Back when they were a real newspaper, they’d send a non sports reporter to ask the really difficult questions to protect the beat writers. Will see if they do that again.
Technically it’s JW’s call, but he is in an impossible position. The drumbeats for this not to be run back next year are going to get louder and louder.
It’s going to be a national discussion very soon. The Jay Bilas’s of the world see the personnel decisions. The veiled descriptions about what is going on have already started. It’s just the beginning.
This can end disappointingly, sad or horrifyingly ugly. JB holds those cards.
We need the wizzbanger to bring the hammerTime to bring back Bud.
He does. The Chancellor knows what Jim pulled. This is sort of my fear. You can construct arguments that this year is an aberration, we see people make them here frequently. Sweet Sixteens, 45 years of winning records, our team would've been great if player X didn't go pro/transfer/get hurt/decommit/get a bag from Duke or Kentucky, etc. If people in power are inclined to look for an argument to keep JB around, they can find them.
I've always wondered whether JW has the political capital at Syracuse to win a fight against JB, even if he had the inclination to have the fight.
It’s tough because there are people on the board, who have influence, that JAB can do no wrong. Force him out and the next coach has a foot in the grave before they even start. They have a few losses? Or a losing season?
“See? You want Boeheim gone and look what happened!”
It wasn’t that simple. Myles Brand came up with a zero tolerance policy for Knight after the video of him choking Neil Reed came out. So IU didn’t think that was enough to fire Knight. He was fired for grabbing a student’s arm (still assault by the letter of the law)…and the whole thing may have been a set up by the student’s stepdad, who was a professor who didn’t care for sports, Knight, or both. The dude physically assaulted a student and a former player. He was a liability to the University at that point - he had to be fired.
In case he changes his mind. Why did JB seek an extra year for Jimmy if he wasn’t planning on coming back. Also total silence on this being Buddys last year.
I fully expect JB to be back, and i also expect us to make the tournament next year and if so Jim just might retire.
How do we make the tournament with this squad? Why did JB seek an extra year for Jimmy if he wasn’t planning on coming back. Also total silence on this being Buddys last year.
