because we as Syracuse fans are going to see a whole level of speed and athleticism out of these two teams we can only dream of.

The difference between SU and the top tier of programs is night and day. Not sure we will ever compete with those guys

Did you see the Bama DE not only take out the pitch man on the option then have the speed to run down the DE from behind? Wow.

BTW, Bama is the more talented club IMO.

it is absolutely astonishing and i watch a lot of college football the force that bama d line plays with especially at the point of attack. Violent hits and they explode of thier blockers like nobodys buisness.

The Bama RBs and OL are HUGE. They make that little TE play that Nassib runs look like a work of art...

More depressing that there's more than 2,000 fans at the Superdome.

Save the missed FGs, drops, Bama should have won the first game by double digits.

neither team is that great at the most important position. would've liked to see USC or Texas teams from a few years ago against these guys. i wish alabama had played more than one good offense (although what they did to arkansas was impressive)

I think most programs could say the same.

This Bama D is the best I have seen in the last 20 years.

The Bama QB may end up being a pretty good NFL prospect with time. He's ding a great job against a LSU secondary with 2 1st round picks and two other first day prospects.

Very true. This game makes the BE look like a Section 3 battle between Caz and Homer.

You can include the ACC and the Big 10 as well. I say the Big 10 because they've shown no ability to play with the best of the SEC.

mccarron's pretty good, but not great.

LSU's offense was blah against non conference and bama didn't play anyone.

the thing about huge conferences is that you don't get to compare them as much. everyone bases everything on what they assume at the start. kinda like some big east basketball seasons where we're so convinced it's a great conference but we only see them play each other.

someone needs to score a *cking touchdown some day.

these teams are great, i'd just rather have the SEC's superiority be proven vs assumed

True, although LSU did trounce WVU and Oregon.

WVU isn't a national championship caliber team. them getting 500 yards against them makes me wonder what stanford, wisconsin, or oklahoma state could've done.

but we get another fg kicking contest

as bad as oregon was, they still outgained LSU (short fields, I know)

we could've seen a good team from a different conference play LSU tonight but instead we're talking about games from september

You do know that a large chunk of Oregon's yards came at the very end of that game against LSU's 2's right. They were under 250 with 3 to go.

Listen, I know you love points and yards and that's your thing. And I'm not loving a rematch either. But to discount the talent level of these defenses is silly.

All this talk of how noone outside of Alabama could best or score on LSU is silly. How does anyone know without playing the games? Hell last year the godamn 7-9 Seahawks beat the Saints in the playoffs (blew them out actually).

I'm tired of this "OSU or Stanford or X team would get smoked" talk. Let them play the damn game and find out.

i think both defenses are great. i just think the offenses kinda suck too.

i didn't say oregon was good on offense that game.

only point was that they had under 4 yards per play against a bad oregon defense. short fields doesn't explain that away.

the last thing this game needed was a halftime show with some nerd kicking field goals...

Saban is a great college football coach. He won a national championship at LSU, and it looks like he's going to have won 2 at Alabama unless something happens soon. Give Saban one month to prepare for a game and good luck. Not to mention that it's a tall order for LSU or anyone to beat a really good team twice in one year.
