Just stop it. You have a new OC and new QB thrown in the deep end and they are struggling, we get it. But it's not close to the mess that was Robinson football. Once they adjusted to a limited set of plays it was much different from the middle of the 2nd quarter onwards."
The problem is the offensive adjustments you mention could and should have been made a week ago today, not after 2 quarters of ugliness vs a team that can put up points in a hurry. We had an offensive system that the players knew and that was working. The new OC decided to abandon it despite assurances to the contrary. His goal was to make a name for himself instead of copying a successful predecessor. Shafer should have said look we need you to replicate the Hackett offense. Once that is working you can add to it as you see fit. Instead we did this in reverse and it cost us a W vs Penn state which was a very winnable game and may have cost the team it's sense of confidence vs NW.
Also where are the touches for smith our best player? Did he ever run for less than 4 yards when he got the ball last night? more of the following please : estime, broyld, Morris iii, and funder. And finally the obvious oral contract with Allen the mistakes he makes will take a season to correct and it's clear he was not well coached (low priority I assume) before he got here. Hunt wants to make plays, he is poised and confident, he's not in there whining, and the flow is just obviously better - flow counts for a whole lot in life and in sports. Allen has zero shot at the nfl, we have a 3 year starter who the players love ready to go. End of experiment please.[/quote]
