Class of 2022 This year’s class

I know the staff has a good eye for talent, but the offer sheets for a lot of recruits that they are in play for seem to be those lower level offers again. Only winning can solve everything, but seems like the 2022 class is shaded of old standards

I predict we will only have 3 commits with over a 85 composite rating. It is what it is fellas. It can change if the season goes better than expected. We are coming off a 1-10 season. All I can say it that we are getting negative recruited by many schools. You can probably guess one of the schools just by the timing of my post.

Money, you know how big of a fan I am of your posts. And I know your post is intended to be matter-of-fact -- so I'm aiming this more at the sentiment and not at you.

But I greatly look forward to Dino getting this team back to a bowl, to end all of this chatter. The entire season hinges on the OL rounding into form, and either DeVito or Shrader emerging as a difference-maker. Those two things happen, we're bowling -- and the next few years set up well.

This thread has nothing to do with my thoughts on the upcoming season. Im not giving my opinions. Im providing info on what's going on with RECRUITING and the challenges the staff faces. You are talking about a different subject.

I like Dino, but he’s hasn’t recruited anyone of note since he arrived. Why should anyone be surprised with the continuation of poor recruiting. The only players that have amounted to much are the three defensive backs who just left and we couldn’t reap many benefits because two of them were hurt last year.
This is hilarious given the guys drafted just last year

If we can sustain drives we can be dangerous. Our D is legit

We're going to get Liberty too. Paper tiger.
Totally agree, looking forward to that one! A healthy line and depth at running back can wear people down and make the passing game open up, healthy line will be the key. If Schrader is not the guy, and for some reason I don't think he will be, I hope they have red zone packages for him, as stated by TrueBlue "D" is legit.

Not sure shrader will start the season but I do think he could excel in our system. A mobile qb cannot be understated. He may not be able to throw the deep ball as well as others but I do believe he can move the chains and score.

He got moved to WR by a coach who is arguably even more fast paced then Dino is

I agree. Its about culture and development more than anything but you do need to land some high end guys when playing P5 ball. Depth is a big difference maker. The teams that consistent win have quality depth.
I get what you’re saying. However…..if Dino cannot consistently bring in a top 40 class, this program cannot and will not be consistently good as he desires. Right now they bring in a top 60 class.

Thankfully recruiting is not an exact science and they’ve done well identifying underrated players. However, the correlation of recruiting to program success is obvious. To Dino’s credit, I believe that he has the right system already in place and a top 40 class will yield him greater success than at other places. With that said, he has never been able to get those kind of results once, let alone regularly and until he does, this ship isn’t changing course. His time is running out.

I don’t know what you are disputing. You seem to add on to my point. I agree with you. That’s why I said he needs to add in some high level guys as well. Btw. It’s not Just Dino. Recruiting at SU has been an issue way before Dino.

I will say this. One of the prospects was leaning towards not visiting a particular school this weekend. It was repeated to him several times on why he should not commit to Cuse and visit them.
That sucks but I guess that is recruiting.

I will also say as a high schooler if someone said to me you shouldn’t visit, it made me want to do it just because. You would think these parents and kids would see through that.

either way we need to win games to get these kids. Thanks for the info

I thought many of the kids visiting had pretty good offers. What am I missing?

I’ll be honest, a lot of them we are fighting for have offers with like mid major programs…..

The flip side of that is, we usually offer early before kids blow up and start getting the “blue blood” offers

Lets be honest. Its hard to sell coming off a 1-10 record. Im sure that other coaches are saying that Dino is gone which is also hard to overcome. SU needs to take the kids they want and not start taking the B C list guys early. Play some games hopefully win more than you play and close out the class strong. He just has to win.

I think these kids all just visited. No much mid major here.
