Thoughts on officiating in WVU game?

Idiotshit Nantz should retire. He just kept babbling about a held ball and it wasn't even close to that.

How many bad block/charge calls were there? That call impacted six or seven plays in first half alone. All resulting in two stripes looking at each other staring.

I didn't have a problem with any of the block/charge calls. What I didn't like was the hand play from WV on the perimeter that they just kept letting go.

Buddy had two hands on the ball and their guy came in a body blocked him - I don't think it was all that close - and thank goodness the refs called it correctly.

That was just odd.

Oh, dang, can't wait for the replay, I didn't think that was all that close.

He hit his back, his head, both arms, rolled over on him - and I don't think at any single point touched the ball and wasn't that close. The miraculous thing was how far away it was from being a jump ball on a play like that.

Charge on Guerrier was horrible.

I don't recall that one, maybe when I was in the can, haha. But it's not unusual for a block/charge call to get kicked. The hand checking, however, is obvious and should be jumped on early to set the tone. They didn't do that.

Three things:

1. Officiating was terrible in both directions
2. The way all refs call offensive fouls is ruining the game and has been for decades
3. Most charge/block calls should be no-calls unless one of the players is way out of control
4. This was one of those games where you could knock people over at will but couldn't graze someone's uniform if they were shooting.

I still feel like there is to much flopping in the game...and yes the hand checking drives me crazy. After a hot touch you cannot put a hand on the ball handler and two hands or an arm bar is an auto foul. Call hand checks early and they will stop doing it.

Two guys that don't look much alike except for being tall, black and having whatever they call that hair style.

Sounds about right for them to be confused. If only they put names and numbers on the clones...

Personally, I thought there were a lot of bad calls both ways. It's MM for goodness sake, let the kids play a little.
