Tim Lester's Comments

Towards the bottom it says the QB rotation is scripted for at least part of the game.

I've watched or listened to every Lester interview this week and he's been pretty consistent in saying that he doesn't believe in trading series or quarters - but situational subbing.

Best offensive line in the NFL as per Pro Football Focus. Tate, Crowell, and West all are producing and Hoyer is getting time.

Nah its all about Brian Drew ... dude has come back from injury and is benching 225 twentyfive times! Plus he is squatting up around 400 ...

Yes, and that confuses me. Does he mean a certain down and distance? Red Zone? We are behind and need to pass so its Wilson? What if Wilson starts and takes us down to the 15 - does he put Long in? Going to be interesting.

No I'm thinking more like a leg gets snapped like a twig ...

I'd love to find a guy like Fridge. Someone who was a successful OC. So good that it landed him a HC job. But maybe it didn't work out as HC so he has to go back to what he was great at.

That doesn't mean any single (or double sized) human rowing in that boat is acceptable. I don't want Charlie Weis taking the role. We'd never be able to get up in to that coaching booth.

If that's the route Shafer takes, rescue Jeff Jagodzinski. He'll help shore up the o-line too.

He said it on axe's show today as well. He said his offense has same plays, but they are called different things. He even screwed up Gator/Smash as he was taking to Brent. Apparently they mean the same thing in the different offenses. Said he would see the game and the plays would flow without only having to look at Play sheet once or twice per game.

Don't see how the QB coach doesn't know the full playbook, terminology and all.

He didn't say he didn't know the terminology. Basically he said he gets it confused with other systems he has run and calls the same thing something else that he has done in the past.

Working on a QB's mechanics, footwork, eyes, ball placement, form and drop back have nothing to do with terminology of the offense.

Ugh, not for nothing buy one of my son's friends on our team broke his femur last Sunday during their game.

I'd be surprised if other d1 QB coaches get confused about terminology.

Perfect example, especially given where he is today. Not like we have to wrestle him away from some other P5 program. And he's in good enough shape to get up to the booth. Poor Mangino, wouldn't stand a chance. His offense isn't doing much at Iowa State this year anyway, but he does have success with a 5 foot 9 QB, should we need to move to that model.

I was kidding.

I know. I still think we should ask him. There's as good a chance of him saying yes as Harbaugh.

Passive aggressive much? Just say it already.

What the hell are you talking about?

sorry for the double post but that was two digs at our new OC in a matter of minutes. What are you trying to say?

I'm saying exactly what I said in my original post here. I'm not buying the quote.

Eddie I am a long time lurker but for anyone who reads this board bees is obviously a huge fan but always a glass 1/2 empty...more like 3/4 empty kinda person

My bad. Took the last two posts out of context. Should know better after everything thats gone down over the last couple of days.

The last couple were in response to a couple of posts that weren't surprised he wouldn't know it all. I'm sure he does or it'd be hard to be the QB coach. Not a big deal. If he doesn't know the terminology, I'm not sure why he said it. If he doesn't, I'm shocked.
