Tony White to Nebraska

White might regret this move, Nebraska gets rid of Head Coaches on a regular basis. If they have another bad year, the new coach might not last more then a year.
If they fire Rhule after the first year, they'd owe a buyout of over $60 million. They're gonna give him time.

White is going to kill it there. He is aggressive and they love aggressive Ds He will leave Nebraska as a head coach. Maybe ours

I sure hope not. We’re better off with Dino; White as HC would be a 1-2 year rental til he moved on to more money. No thanks.

While speculation since the initial report has been it was money that prompted the departure — Big Ten schools tend to have deeper pockets than ACC ones — White said his relationship with Rhule as well as a “family component” were what spurred him to make the transition.

“The money part of it was not the issue,” White said. “Syracuse, they are serious about keeping guys here.”

White declined to share specifics about SU’s counteroffer this go around or what his contract will be at Nebraska, though a spokesman for the Huskers confirmed the contract will be made public once it’s finalized.

Had lots of offers prior to this one. Complimentary of Dino and Wildhack. Suggests that he's getting an extra title at Nebraska (Asst. HC?). Good luck to him.

But but that doesn't fit the narrative..

Good on TW to send some positivity towards the program.

So would DB if he had won here routinely. He’d already been rumored to USC after the big season. Had he followed that season up with another good season he wouldn’t still be here. His whole career is leaving one school for another, he’s as transient as a coach as they come. The only reason he’s still here is it’s hard to move up the ladder when you’re older and have a losing record at your current school.

Hopefully this will calm down some of those who want to fire everyone and drop the program to FCS, though I should know better than to expect it.

Let’s give Cuse a little support here. It appears that we have stepped up our game to keep good coaches. No, we aren’t an SEC or B10 school but at least we are trying to swim in the deep end of the ACC pool. I’m thankful to hear that.

I had kind of hoped Dino would be gently retired in a couple of years and have White become HC, perhaps with a season of HC in waiting. With Beck as OC.
As long as Tony doesn't burn any bridges (doesn't take SU coaches, recruits, or players along with him to Nebrasska), he still might end up being SU's next head coach. JW just luvs the guy.

Who says we can’t poach him back after Dino retires next year?

Re: the Leiker article, what was the “family” component that TW referenced? He was rather cryptic, makes me wonder if that part was just blowing smoke?
