Justin Simon, who was a consensus top 35 player in the 2015 class has decided to leave Zona. He's from Cali, but spent his senior year at Brewster Academy. We weren't involved the first time around, but he fits the versatile tall guard type that the staff loves.

Getting him probably takes Hami Diallo out of the equation. Right now we're in a good spot with Diallo, and this final four run certainly doesn't hurt our chances moving forward.

I know that kids make their decisions on their schedule but I just wish it would speed up a little. Its kind of frustrating to me personally. OK you may begin the stomping!

As I previously mentioned in his own thread. I think this guy is the Real Diallo He looks like he could be the most athletic player we have ever had here. Top of the wish list, well besides a Big.

Here goes another grad transfer. 6'5 SG from Bobby Morris, averaged 18 ppg and 8 rpg.

Wonder what happened to that kid's shooting stroke. Went from 43% from 3 on almost 200 attempts to under 30% this year. That's a drastic drop. But he's a 6'5" kid that can score, rebound and has the ability to shoot from deep at least. Probably a SG, I'd guess...

Francis, what are the chances Diallo reclassifies to 2016? If he does, does that hurt our chances with him if Mali comes back?

I have no clue if his grades are on point to reclassify. One concern is that his prep school is one of those that are red flagged by the NCAA. So I'm sure his grades and coursework will be looked at very carefully first before being cleared, whether it's for 16 or 17. If he reclassifies and Mali returns, then I doubt he'll come to SU.

It crazy now and seems like Free Agency in pro sports. I know JB doesn't like the rule much but I am glad he's willing to look at these guys. The chance to add that missing piece or missing depth with only one season tying up a ship is too good to pass up IMO.

I agree 100%. I was concerned because, as we all know, Jimmy can be quite stubborn. I would love to add one of these guys that could compliment what we will have next year - it's really a no-brainer.

Well he better hope that Mali returns, because Reinhardt is the best replacement available if it that were to happen. Best case scenario imho, Mali returns and we replace KJ with the Columbia grad transfer. With Chukwu, DC2, and a stronger Lydon as an emergency center. I now look at adding another big as more of a luxury than need for next season. I rather save that ship and add it to the 2017 class.

I'm not sure that Hop has a real say in the matter at this point.JIMBO will not gove up his control easily. If a kid can help the program he would at the very least advice Hop to strongly consider this kid.

I think so but I believe the reason he is waiting is playing time. With Coleman, Lydon, Chukwu, Roberson, Moyer its crowded.

If Mali does return and KJ does leave, I'd be happy to add the Columbia kid as quality depth and a shooting presence. It's looking like, no matter what happens, we better be prepared to add some guard depth at the very least.

Sure, but does Thompson want to come? If so this farce of a recruitment would've been over a long time ago. It's even more telling that the staff has spent 0 time checking him out over the past month. UConn and Zona hit him with new offers recently and Ed Cooley went to visit him personally. I would think if things were still going strong here that we would've spent more time visiting him and trying to close this one out instead of scouting Dembele numerous times.
