Did not see this coming at all. This is a very deep draft for receivers. Hope he got good advice because while I do think he has pro talent, this might not be the year to test the waters.

I wish him the best of luck, but don't see it. Agree w/ poster above that AET and Ish were much more impressive and haven't much of a sniff to this point.

I don’t disagree with that either. The kid is making a stance and likely got input from alot of people including Babers. With all that being said, if it doesn’t work out, then it doesn’t work out. Hard to imagine him getting much better in the eyes of an NFL Scout by playing another year in a run-and-gun offense. Mainly downside with a little upside IMHO. Not worth the risk to him to return and get hurt, have a letdown season, etc.

Shrugging...possibly. Then again maybe they surprise. Those 2 receivers are "physically " ready to go. If they learn the offense we may see some good stuff. Glass half full my man.

Our 4-8 team saw both Ishmael and Erv leave and we had big questions at WR ... then we had a 10-3 season. I wish TJ all the best because we don't know any of the circumstances. Go get paid young man

Ishmael and AET were seniors when it all came together for them.

it wouldnt be ridiculous to say that Jackson would have a shot at ACC record books next year.

that being said, I have faith in the 3 options I mentioned before

I wish him luck. At first glance this looks like a setback to next years team but I think this may benefit them when all is said and done. Competition at WR will be of the chain this off-season and it forces Tommy to throw to someone else.

Also, the upshot is we can tell a really nice transfer story to any high end talent in the portal in the short term - Jackson was buried at Mich. State, came here and had one of the best seasons ever for a WR, and now he's making his move to the NFL.

Im guessing so. I really wonder if this would have changed anything. Tech’s an absolute hole. The kid would have a potential shot at significant snaps from day one pending his playbook knowledge.

Taj caught 40 for 565 his freshman year, we really have to hope he improves the way we thought he would going into this season and can be a serviceable number 1. But I don’t think I’m ready to count on that yet.

Agreed, especially in football. Have to go get your money while you can if you think your stock isn’t going to improve coming back.
