it's one thing to get screw jobbed on the road. i get it and i actually expect it. but when we are drawing huge crowds of knowledgable fans and have a brand new JUMBOTRON replay i'd expect to get a little home cooking' . i don't have the answer as to why. i just know what i'm seeing. Dome crowd had every right to be pissed off.

Opposing fans won't believe it but SU often gets a bad whistle in big games. Maybe some of that is due to SU's aggressive D style but I have seen it going back to the Desko era. Yesterday was another great example, thought the refs missed multiple clear calls that seemed obvious and a few they actually called on SU including the one right before the Dwan penalty/goal. .

One of the most disappointing things about the last couple of weeks is that we've wasted two outstanding efforts by Jimmy McCool. He is seeing the ball extraordinarily well against outside step-downs.. Unfortunately, against North Carolina, he had to face a barrage of point-blank shots.

The refs were bad n missed offsides on unc few times. But what makes a bad call worst is cuse standing there arguing bout it instead of getting back n set n ready. After the one bad call they left dude wide open on crease. These are the little things need to fix. Ref makes call you disagree with ok let him know when there’s a stoppage. Otherwise get back on D or back ready to play. Cuse had gotten burnt this way a lot this year n more then few times in unc game.

Funny thing is if anyone was at game for warmups you might of saw mcCool was squirting water up in air while walking back n forth almost seem like little ritual he does. But he did it once as refs walked by n got one of them. Even joey pointed it out to him laughing. I watched this n laughed myself saying to myself “oh great watch now refs gonna be against us”. I’m not saying that is reason don’t think they that petty. Just thought was funny is all.

But joey and leo i’ve noticed more then others like to argue with refs on calls. With fast restarts can not do this. The other team doesn’t have to wait for you to get set cause ur trying to overturn a call that won’t ever happen. Man up let it go can be pissed bout it. But be pissed bout it ready and set for restart.

Their shooting total at 59 is a product of extra possessions from face-off and ride. Little Petro is a volume shooter, has been one since high school. Depending on time on shot clock there is an analytics argument to saying that shooting for corners and missing the net is fine, where getting saved is a turnover.

He misses the net a lot but he rarely gets saved, so often times when he shoots it's a goal or shot backup, therefore his misses don't hurt as much as other players misses might.

What exactly is a "volume shooter"?

I think any of us who played lacrosse at a high level would have loved to take 20 shots a game. The problem was our teammates, and coaches, would have told us to chill out and pass the ball if we went 1-10 in the first half.

I think the guy is only allowed to be a "volume shooter" because of his name and the coaching staff "connection". Twenty shots in a game is absolutely bonkers. Again, next highest was 8. Everyone wants to be a "volume shooter" but it's just not realistic.

Anaylytics aside, UNC has been below average for years. At a program with that pedigree, that money, Breschi has underachieved. Cuse fans would be calling for his head, I think they've had one playoff appearance in the last 7-8 years.

So, either Dom Pietramala shoots 20 times and you win by one...or you miss the playoffs again. Analytics tell me that's a bad bet.

He shot 6/20. 30%. That is literally a good shooting percentage. If he were putting up Luke Rhoa numbers I’d agree with you, but he’s scoring. They also scored 14 goals as a team, a good team total in 2025.

His dad is the defensive coordinator not the OC.

UNC is also the first ACC team to be considered a “lock” into the NCAA tournament at this point and their offense has been consistently productive all season (against quality competition too).

Like it or not: he shoots a lot, he scores a lot, they score a lot, and they’re winning.

I would be very happy if we had him on cuse and he had the same production.

Hoping Dwan learned to protect topside and not square up on his guy. He needs to take something away.
