There seems to be a trend these days of pundits, newscasters, experts, etc. redefining what is plain to see with your own two eyes. I don't care what Babers says, I SAW Dungey get a hard helmet to helmet tackle, period. I can only conclude that that his injury involves the brain, concussion or otherwise. The only thing I'm not sure about is how serious it is. Notwithstanding, his health comes first!
I really didn't see helmet to helmet, live or on replay. I saw him get rocked hard, but it looked like the hit was to the shoulder. Doesn't mean it wasn't a concussion, I just didn't see helmet to helmet unless I missed something.
Agreed. I don't know why that guy is whining. I still think something with his neck which is never good.

Awesome News!
Why would it be??? The chicken little mentality, around Syracuse in general, is astounding.
Is this the mentality people approach their everyday lives with?
He was walking around the sidelines talking 20 minutes later, yeah, pretty good flocking indication that the injury he'd sustained is not "career ending."
I'm amazed that this drags on. I was amazed that he wasn't cleared to play last week, but, that opinion was based on the assumption that he'd practiced the Tuesday prior. Regardless, career ending is absurd.
Honestly, that can go both ways. I know of an individual this year who was cleared right away for a concussion. But, because of their own reasoning wanted a second opinion, more for precaution than anything else. It was three weeks before that appointment happened. Essentially, lost the majority of the season to be cleared by another doctor. But, I know exactly what you're saying.I felt the exact same way but then I started getting a bit uneasy when he went for a second opinion. Not panic model, just a bit concerned.
All right, sit him the rest of the year. We aren't bowling and next year is more important than one game against Pitt.
Agreed, furthermore, there's really no new information in the blurb other than the fact that a "source" doesn't believe it's career-ending. Literally, no information but that piece right there. It just feels dirty that post standard reporters use inside sources to get a scoop on a college sophomores protected health information.

I'd call it good reporting. No protected information has been released from what I can see in either article.
BTW: Anyone know why Syracuse doesn't have a neurologist making these final career decisions on concussions as opposed to a family doc? As a child of two family doctors, and the brother of another one, I totally respect their skill level, but the brain is not their specialty. Seems like a kink in the system. There are specialists in medicine for a reason. Those that specialize tend to know more and be better at that particular subject matter than generalists.
Totally plausible that he got a word/nod from the Dungey camp.he could also have asked the parents and gotten a response.
