Can we not play games in Texas again? This crowd is AWFUL!

Since the USA hosts virtually every time, and it's really a regional competition, we have virtually no say over venues. If we did, we would not have played the final in LA in 2011. Dallas was chosen because they can fill it with 75,000 Mexican fans.

I was a little disappointed that they chose to play in the Dallas area and didn't play at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco (where FC Dallas plays). It's a beautiful soccer specific park, but I guess they were trying to get as much money out of ticket sales as possible rather than actually playing on a great soccer surface.

I only caught a little bit of the game so I couldn't really tell, but from what I've read the players hated it, saying it felt like playing on concrete.

Seriously though, it's just ridiculous they didn't play here (been to several games there, it's really a great facility):

EDIT: Panama and Mexico are playing right now and yeah...the surface just looks...well, artificial. For obvious reasons. It doesn't look as bad as I'd have expected but it certainly doesn't look very good.

Yeah, the pitch sucks, but it's a frickin sell out. A sold out stadium like that is a great site and a great selling point for the game, even if they are all wearing green.

They always seem desperate, rushed. And in this case, desperation != heart.

In Mexico's defense, I don't think they have a single player from their Confed Cup roster. Their most experienced player has 16 caps. We have two over 100 caps and 8 more with more than 17. We also have 6-7 players who have had recent run with the 1st team, in addition to Landycakes. If they somehow don't qualify, though, it could get really ugly.

My old roommate lives in Mexico city and is the strength coach for Cruz Azul. To this very day the mexican fans think they are on the same level as Spain and Brazil. Not!!!
