I think that's the key to our short term stability. If the dam around some combination of Clemson, FSU, Miami, and VT holds then we are OK for a while.I already accepted the fact that Clemson , FSU and couple others will be leaving soon. Would not shock me at all if announcement happens fairly soon. I have no inside info but you know it’s coming .
6 teams from the PAC to the BIG10 and the others 6 to the Big 12Could see Pac12 and Big12 combine.
Captain, I'm pretty sure that is an iceberg up ahead. Captain Bees: "nonsense. Plus, this ship is unsinkable". With what is happening to our country and to the college sports I love, I'm glad I'm 66Im not worried about SU. Bunch of nervous nellies.
Won't be 10.Wake me when we're back in the Big East for hoops and some lesser football conf with our peers in 10 years.
Somewhere, Martin Niemoller is shaking his headNow that the Big East, Big 12 and Pac 12 have been destroyed, credit to the ACC for being the last surviving formerly major conference. That’s quite an accomplishment.
That may not last through the summer, of course.
If we get left behind I want to be in a conference of mainly Northeast teams. Let us play BC, UConn, Pitt, Temple, West Virginia. Some Florida leftovers like Miami, UCF, USF. Maybe Cincy. Maybe Army and Navy. I prefer ECU over Wake but maybe Duke for BBall.I think that's the key to our short term stability. If it does not, The B10 will have lots of options that don't include SU and the SEC won't be interested at all.
Within 4-5 years we will be explaining the Legend Formerly Known As the Legend of 44 to people in Ames, Iowa. Assuming of course that they aren't hobnobbing with new friends in Pullman, Washington in which case we are totally screwed.
I have no desire to see us play in a revamped Yankee conference. If we get left behind I want to be in a conference of mainly Northeast teams. Let us play BC, UConn, Pitt, Temple, West Virginia. Any merging idea IMO is short sighted.
If we get left behind we have little choice. A revamped New Big East beats a mega conference with teams all over the US.I have no desire to see us play in a revamped Yankee conference.
We disagree. I want no part of a small eastern league. If we get left behind we have little choice. A revamped New Big East beats a mega conference with teams all over the US.
So small national is better? The 2005-2012 Big East plus BC and Miami isn’t better than playing Iowa State, Kansas State, BYU?We disagree. I want no part of a small eastern league.
Well, this is it. What can we do to save ourselves? Thinking outside the box, get ND full time and raid who?
Miami isn't going to be in our play pen. And to be national is better than to be regional in my book.So small national is better? The 2005-2012 Big East plus BC and Miami isn’t better than playing Iowa State, Kansas State, BYU?
That's our future though. Time to come to the realization and accept it.I have no desire to see us play in a revamped Yankee conference.
If national is playing Tulane I’d rather be regional playing temple.Miami isn't going to be in our play pen. And to be national is better than to be regional in my book.
