In the B10 tourney he was okay, but Utoff has sucked of late in game I've watched. Iowa can't overcome that.
Also, why is Iowa having one guy guard an entire side of the floor by himself? They're not noticing that ain't working???

Wow, what a stark contrast. Big Ten plodding basketball versus up and down, good ball movement, use much less of the shot clock basketball. I'll be happy to say goodbye to all of the slow it down teams (Butler, Wisconsin, Iowa et al).

What do you think about Gesell? I've never really thought he was that great. He just has never developed the consistency I would have expected of a 4 year starter. Not a good shooter and sometimes his floor game is great and sometimes it leaves me shaking my head. My dad loves him and we've gone back and forth on it more than a couple times.
Iowa doesn't play like the normal Big Ten team.
They want to play fast up and down basketball. It is their identity under McCaffrey.
They have really had their wheels come off their seasons in February/March the last 3 years. However they play fun to watch basketball unlike almost the average Big Ten team.

This year and 2013-14 it happened. Last year they actually finished pretty strong.

Not a big fan - eh, actually I like him because he's scrappy, and works hard, but would I want him as my guard? Not so much.
He's prone to doing nothing for long stretches, relies too much on straight ahead speed, but isn't all that creative a passer. Some of that may be roster limitations, but he doesn't seem to be able to pull them out of stretches where they're struggling. He also isn't a great shooter (as you mentioned). He can exploit slower guards though - so, he's not awful or anything. Also, I feel like he's too dependent on going right.
I like Utoff, but he's made me sad of late. This team would be something with a Devyn Marble type to complement Utoff.

Quite true - they resemble a Pac-12 team more than a B10 team. I like their style of play, the wheels came off though.
