Virginia has a COVID case - out of ACCT - potential SU impact?

I'll end with this... My 92 year old grandmother got COVID in late December. She was in a nursing home, with everyone following crazy strict protocols. A worker there was an asymptomatic carrier, and got her infected while she was cleaning her room. There were very few positives in that facility in December, two I believe. She didn't deserve blame.

And I know the reply: But that's different. No, it's not. Even the strictest of protocols can fail.

This isn't difficult. And it's not part of the bizarre right/wrong fetish you always unleash on this board. Maybe the UVA person was being wildly irresponsible. Maybe not. There's a whole range of possibilities.
The athletes are wearing brackets and are de facto living in prisons.
No contact, eating meals in their rooms alone, only Together at practice and games. Not anything like your family situation.

Sorry for what happened to your grandmother but that is completely different what you just said from a 19-22 kid doing something to get inflicted.
I am safe to feel if a kid tested positive it’s different from what you described.

Asymptomatic carriers still test positive so whoever cleaned her room should’ve been tested.
Again move on like you said you were.

Sorry, I was about to say that based upon the minutes played, I don't believe any of our players could've been around the player for too long. Maybe we're OK? Unfortunately, I don't know the protocol on how many minutes would pose a problem for contact tracing.

I might be in the minority here, but I don’t see how the NCAA tournament is going to work if they can’t even escape the conference tournaments unscathed by Covid.

IMO we shouldn’t even have March Madness this year. Professionals are paid millions, Covid risk is now an occupational hazard for them. These kids aren’t paid. They shouldn’t have to shoulder the risk.
Move March Madness to May! Screw the networks and their concerns!

Ha ha! Player tested positive after game... retested and both tests came back positive.

Their college kids with a 99.99% survival rate let them live there life’s. Its time that we stop letting a strain of the flu stop us from living are life’s.
It's not just the players who might be infected.

Have there been proven cases where players from one team picked up covid as a result of a game being played against opponent(s) who had covid?
Not that I’m aware of

What did I say that was confusing? The "Ha Ha" was in response to the comment on JB typically not playing his bench.
Well one of the quoted replies you had was a little cut off so hard to follow.

Be done. Doesn’t make you right.
You don’t give blame fine.
I am not killing the person who tested positive hard but they deserve blame when it’s only a few positives yeah its likely they did something wrong.
Go on though.

Wear a mask, stay 6 feet apart,
Stay in your hotel room.
Something went wrong when only an overwhelmingly majority are doing fine and a couple test positive and I am saying couple to be nice. If it’s only one player then yeah that player is wrong.

Duke had athletes having parties in their hotel rooms.
Their football team and other sport teams had positives.

I think you're being a little rough on them without having all of the facts.

So much about contracting this virus is what others around you are doing not just what you are doing.

The players and coaches could be doing everything correctly. They are still exposed to bus drivers, hotel staff members, arena security guards and janitors, team managers, PT and other medical members, team tutors, cafeteria staff members, etc. You obviously can't monitor those folks day-in-and-out like you can your players/staff.

You've got over a dozen teams down there. Right now, they are probably more exposed than your normal person in the Northeast. There's always a risk that some people may get it.

The fact that there are hundreds of team and staff members down there and only a couple positive tests isn't necessarily a condemnation on the one or two people that get it, it could very well be they just fell victim to the law of averages.

I get it's frustrating and it could end our season earlier than we hoped, but we're watching sports, in the middle (hopefully near the end) of a pandemic, played by amateurs who are flying around the country just to entertain us.
