Virginia has a COVID case - out of ACCT - potential SU impact?

I'm done. They're not in a bubble. Do some reading on this, it's been a year.
Be done. Doesn’t make you right.
You don’t give blame fine.
I am not killing the person who tested positive hard but they deserve blame when it’s only a few positives yeah its likely they did something wrong.
Go on though.

Wear a mask, stay 6 feet apart,
Stay in your hotel room.
Something went wrong when only an overwhelmingly majority are doing fine and a couple test positive and I am saying couple to be nice. If it’s only one player then yeah that player is wrong.

Duke had athletes having parties in their hotel rooms.
Their football team and other sport teams had positives.

Here's my elite eight and final four prediction:

Elite Eight
East - Bye vs Bye - Bye Wins
South - Alabama vs Bye - Alabama Wins
West - Bye vs Bye - Bye Wins
Midwest - Iowa vs Tennessee - Iowa Wins

Final Four:
Alabama vs Bye
Iowa vs Bye

Final Game
Alabama vs Iowa - Alabama Wins
Good accolade for coach in waiting!

Obviously, a lot of those people are lying. Or have a warped sense of what "all or most" means. But the point remains that slagging a UVA player, assuming they were running around maskless and asking infected people to spit in his mouth, is a bad take.

I agree with you. My point was more that there are millions of people that are confounded by how they got covid when they thought they took all the necessary pre-cautions. Virus gonna virus.

Come on. There are tons of ways someone can be inadvertently exposed. I tend to be suspicious of people who trot out the tired "but I was so careful" line, but there are literally millions of people who got this highly infectious virus through no fault of their own.
You're right, being careful just reduces the chance you get infected. It could be 0.01% chance but even then someone had to get it to be 0.01%. Its like the guy says to a girl after she say "never in a million years! " "So you're telling me I have a chance!"

We need some insight on how the venue operated. Did Duke and UVA share locker rooms? Did a ref work both games? Cross check everyone who came in contact with both teams.

Surface transmission is considered extremely rare. It’s not a concern of epidemiologists anymore.
See my response about being "so careful, doing everything right"

Well, THERE'S the spirit.

Yeah, i get it's a hyper-cynical take.

In the past year though, I've come to the realization that some guy i don't know shooting, kicking, hitting, or throwing a ball (and any other action) has next to nothing to do with my life and my personal contentment/happiness. And I get that is a hypocritical/counterintuitive stance to have for someone who spends time on this website.

I just can't get worked up about a team, using the same tried and failed systems, who has scraped by yet again, playing or not playing next week. Reasonable minds can disagree.

I'll end with this... My 92 year old grandmother got COVID in late December. She was in a nursing home, with everyone following crazy strict protocols. A worker there was an asymptomatic carrier, and got her infected while she was cleaning her room. There were very few positives in that facility in December, two I believe. She didn't deserve blame.

And I know the reply: But that's different. No, it's not. Even the strictest of protocols can fail.

This isn't difficult. And it's not part of the bizarre right/wrong fetish you always unleash on this board. Maybe the UVA person was being wildly irresponsible. Maybe not. There's a whole range of possibilities.

I am assuming the person who tested positive didn’t follow the protocols to 100% or else we would be seeing more players test positive.

Sorry people don’t want to do this.
With the odds you described above I feel very good my theory is correct.

Virginia still thinks they can play but people here are writing us off and we haven't tested positive yet. We need to wait this thing out. Being patient is so tough. But it is all we can do right now. For me, I am proceeding as if this didn't happen. if we get bad news, we can all react to it then.

Just came across this in the NCAA guidelines. Not good news for UVA if this is the case (vis a vis contact tracing). EDIT: this is actually ACC guidelines. I'm starting to go blind reading this stuff.

See!!!! Playing a bench is a bad thing. Another win for JB. If kit was a sub, that helps our cause,
Ha ha! Player tested positive after game... retested and both tests came back positive.
