That must have been an amazing halftime speech!
Down 21-3 in the 2nd half, and we outscore 35-10 to close out the game.
Great comeback, saved the season.
Bowl eligible with 4 games to play. An important bowl game is still possible.
Guys are coming back from early season injuries.
We don't seem hideously undermanned. The roster has mostly held up.
McCord with the 1st half interception in the end zone, and then that ball ripped away by a Hokie DB deep in their territory; we could have been ahead at halftime. Early squandered opportunities.
I liked that they let LeQuint Allen basically win the game for us. It was a reminder that we want to be more than a finesse team.
Still didn't see a pump-n-go route, as CBs continue to jump McCord's quick out routes. Gotta call that a couple times to keep defenders honest.
Wax with a couple terrific plays early, seemed to fade a bit late, as he plays his way back into shape. So happy to have him back.
I'm glad he got the fumble recovery in overtime, but I remain disappointed overall with Fadil Diggs. He misses too many tackles behind the LOS where he lets guys get away. He takes bad angles that OT's exploit when run blocking him. I thought he would be SO much more disruptive than he has shown.
Back up and frosh DL continue to go a strong job, learning as they go. We got run over early, but they did toughen up.
Still more special teams problems with a blocked PAT and nearly a second.
As you look at the remaining 4 games - @BC, @Cal, UConn and Miami at home in the final game, I think we should be favored at BC. The Cal game looks tough. UConn seems to play people closely, and then Miami.
It would be amazing to be 9-2 going into the Miami game. That might warrant Game Day. It's do-able, but we have to get back that swagger of the early season or we could trip up in every single remaining game.
