Wake is winnable

I have to give you credit. You're playing the heel role well. I mean, you're making me really want to beat Wake Forest. By 3 TDs. Before this, I just sort of wanted to beat them.

Given what we've seen on Defense and ST(especially our place kicking) we shouldn't expect to beat anyone right now. Is a game winnable? Sure. And I don't mean in the blind squirrel kind of way but at the same time, expecting to win any game right now is the equivalent of pulling out your toenails and hoping they don't bleed.

Agreed. No use in denying that. But teams that are offensively challenged still have to perform. And as we saw with UCONN, defensive teams playing out of character can tighten up.

I'm not seeing any game in our schedule as an auto-win. But the games vs BC and Wake are the most winnable due to their offensive struggles.

I agree that they are the most winnable. I think it has less to do with them being uncomfortable scoring and more to do with them simply being worse than everyone else. I don't think UConn tightened up. I think they're just not good. Bad teams don't make plays, that's why they're bad. WF has a better resume and beat the team that beat the team that beat us by 17. Does the transitive property work in sports? No, but their win over Duke is better than any we have. How can we mock them, as some are, when we've beat UConn and Colgate.

We're going to get good, I believe that. We're not good yet.

We're very good at times but inconsistent. The team is still going through the reps necessary to internalize Dino's style and pace. I'm hoping that the defense can cut down on the big plays and keep us from getting too far behind. Saturday is going to be blustery with 10-20 mph winds from the NE. I hope that Matthew tracks well out to sea and keeps the higher winds down. Wind will hurt us more than WF...I think...

I haven't looked at their stats and don't know that it matters. A better question is would our record be any better than theirs if we had their schedule.

Probably not. They got a really lucky win vs Indiana. Duke is better than us.

But it's close. I'm also not confident that Wake would beat UCONN given the meathead style of play in both sides. Might be a FG fest.

It's about matchups. Our passing O vs their weakness, their running O vs our relative strength on D.
