Watched the Senior Day Celebration

The school needs to get better about promoting things like Senior Day- specifically state that events will be starting at 11:00 or 11:30AM
-get the t-shirt cannon out at 11:45 targeting the student section, kids section, cheap seats with Senior Day t-shirts
-have seniors giving autographs to kids at 11:00 or so till 11:45
-have other GOOD free giveaways for the first 5,000 in the Dome like a McNabb bobblehead or all-time SU highlight DVD
-have someone like McNabb MCing and taking pictures with each senior/family as they get called out
-get the dance team out entertaining people by 11:45

more than anything, make it memorable.

Interesting points but imo it is the fans turn to give these kids that chose to go to SU a well attended sendoff without having to be bought off. At the very least common courtesy. It's the last game at the Dome and to be honest it doesn't take a lot to realize that it is also going to be the seniors last game as well.

For a 12:30 kickoff, you really expect fans to show up at 11 AM?

Hickey, Reddish and Crume are the biggest loses.

Cam has had a great career, he was the tackling machine in college that he was in high school, but linebackers are a strength on this team.

Darius Kelly has had a real good senior year and we're thin at safety. I like Scissum but Rodney Williams needs to come back from injury.

Welsh and Robinson are under rated and tough to replace but if the interior DLine steps up (Sloan, Coleman, Williams, Raymon and the 2 frosh) allowing Ron Thompson and Isaiah Johsnon to play outside then we're ok there. Slayton gets into the mix next year to.

I don't think anybody else is going to be missed much on the field.

Well with a 12:30 kickoff they don't show up till 1:00PM so say 11:00AM and maybe they will be there by noon.

A lot of people in our section (324) didn't even know it was Senior Day. The school didn't promote it very much and seeing the half ass job they did of having the event you could tell it wasn't really that important to them either. Other than season ticket holders who knew what was done to promote this to the casual/walk up fan?

I honestly see your point and it is a valid one. That said even if you are walking up or the casual fan by the time you got to the turnstile it is too late to make a difference as a huge percentage of fans don't show up until the National Anthem.

Doesn't everyone know that the last game for any sport is senior day?

It's always been a little lackluster. I agree it should be at the start right when the team runs out, and then the seniors come out one at a time. Like BBall does it.

It's the general rule but Homecoming weekend is also usually scheduled for a winnable game but we schedule ours for when FSU comes to town because we're idiots.

Speaking of which, did we all hear about the Canadian national anthem fiasco? There was a letter in the paper from a Carlton fan who came down, and we didn't play their anthem. That is pretty customary is it not? (See hockey, whatever that is)
