For those of you who say next year will be worse, I guess you don't expect any improvement from anyone. And if JB isn't here it will definitely be worse.
Even this year I expect improvement especially from the freshman.
We won't have the competitive team we are used to, mainly because of overall inexperience and a lot because we don't have a competent big man that can give us some decent defense.
Blame what we have on whatever you want but those reasons are water over the dam.
JB is not a miracle maker. Neither is he becoming senile and forgetting what he knows about coaching.
Where are those I have always agreed with that have said JB does some of his best work when he has some of the least talent?

Unfortunately that’s exactly what we’re expecting..
If JB can’t recruit on the level needed, we need to be great at developing players.
A) I don’t see much development on a player level or a conceptual team level. One player a year seems to improve, while everyone else looks the same in their skill level, and somehow, even their physical bodies
B) We have two players that look like they belong playing big minutes on an ACC team right now... Hughes and Guerrier. Our big men don’t improve and can’t even put on weight. Our guards, outside Carey, look slow, unathletic and small... not much you can change about that.
C) Hughes is the only player anyone fears, and if he bolts, or even if he stays, I don’t understand how anyone sees this team having any better than middle of the ACC pack ceiling given no real studs, again, in our recruiting class.
Potentially looking at Buddy, Girard, Guerrier, random string bean PF/C’s... Anyone who thinks that lineup next year can do anything is basing it purely on hope. Recent evidence does not support that hope. Also, hope isn’t a strategy.
Two years in a row of this without starting a new chapter, and we’re just digging a deeper grave to climb out of.
