With Jesse coming back, this is shaping up to be a pretty good team.

I still think we're going after another player, maybe two, if we want a center who can score offensively, like the kid from George Mason.

I would still like to see a wing who kills it from three, and can rebound well enough to get 5 or so a game.

Then I would consider us a potential Top 25 team (I'm assuming Judah is back for one more season).

Who would be your choices for our last two scholarships - assuming Judah comes back?

If you are talking about Oduro, he already committed to Providence.

Too bad. We could use a guy who can score inside and rebound. It would be better if it was a forward, rather than another center, but we need a couple guys who can score from a couple different spots on the floor.

Where did you see about Jesse officially?

Any do-it-all forward would do wonders for this team.

Twitter, earlier today.
In our dreams maybe but nothing has come out yet definitively. Rumors are 50-50. He's trying to figure out what would benefit him most in his basketball development. NIL will be a factor too. SYR needs to figure out how to get him some despite obstacles of being an international student.

There are probably half a dozen stories out there now. Maybe they're all circulating the same tweet, but I think it's gaining momentum.

We lost 2 guards and only replaced them with one, we need another. A CG that can handle and shoot would be nice, I like a team to have 3 guards that can take care of the ball.

I think Benny and Brown can handle the PF position but if Coach Autry got another PF that was a real good defender that would be alright with me.

with the roster as it currently stands we need to hope that the "biggest growth is between Freshman and Sophomore year" adage is indeed true. The league cannot be worse than it was last year, and we are basically, at this point, trotting out the same team that we did last year minus the best shooter.

I believe AA will do very well, but running back the same team with JJ rather than Joe would not be keeping me up at night if I was an ACC competitor.

Agreed. If we bring Judah and Jesse back we are still talking essentially the same team as last year. The trade of JJ for Joe can be looked at as a positive if you believe in JJ’s growth potential and fit for the new system. However, that advantage is likely offset by a harder schedule, better ACC and Red as a rookie coach.

We need to bring in another proven starter at the forward/3rd guard spot or we are looking at a similar team and record.

Cuse

We need continuity. The biggest issue we have had is keeping guys on the team under JB and having to keep restarting building a roster. I still think we get another player, but looking at past great Syracuse teams we got good getting old and keeping guys so I think it's smart we aren't doing a mass rebuilding of the roster.

Scoop, Arinze, Rautins, Kris Joseph are just some examples of guys that didn't look like much as freshmen, but ended up helping us win a bunch of games.

I think we should trust Red's judgement here. 16 of the 20 starters in the FF were with their teams multiple seasons and Hawkins was the only top 50 HS player.

We’re a player or two away assuming the coaching is up to par. This is taking absolutely nothing away from Red, but coaching D1 basketball seems hard and there are going to be growing pains.

We’re in uncharted territory. We’d all like last season’s results to be the floor, at least. The floor could be underground.

If Judah stays in the draft we clearly need another guard.

I would like another forward, especially one that can rebound. But I’m not convinced Red will bring another forward in. He may be content to roll with Benny, Maliq, Taylor and Bell. Seems like we’re lacking depth and toughness in that crew though. Need some of those guys to make huge leaps next year if we’re going to be successful.

Brown and Benny I think are gonna make a big jump. Quadir to me is a point forward and has a strong frame that if he can add 10 more lbs of muscle himself can mix it up. One more guard (Bradley) and then either a Bruiser or a defensive specialist at wing

If the latter then expect more time with smaller lineups I would think

We need a really good wing.

I do not want to depend on Benny or last years freshmen those guys can be our depth but I think that we might end up having another season like the last 10 if we can't add 1 more high end player to go with Starling.
