Yes they would because that G5 champion would be ranked higher than Duke. The 5 highest ranked conference champions get the autobids.

I feel like Miami is in with their win today if Duke ends up winning the ACC championship and Tech wins the big 12? The Big 10 and SEC will be a matchup of teams already in the payoffs, Tulane should be in for the G5, and BYU will drop with the loss which means the last spot probably is between Utah, Miami and Texas? In that scenario you have 3 teams not playing for their conference championship and it’s very unlikely the committee will leapfrog a 3-loss Texas over Vandy, Utah, and Miami. Perhaps they don’t move BYU back with a conference championship loss? But I can’t see them letting 2 big 12 teams in.


Okay I’m not going to delete this because I think the thought process still rings for the last spot but I forgot it’s the 5 champs… meaning another G5 would make it over Miami…. So it’s entirely possible
