When do we get a plausible explanation?

Look, we need to realize we are statistically playing as one of the worst if not the worst team in all of FBS...

We have as light an OOC schedule as can be. That will help.

Yes but this year was light too and here we are. Anything less than 4-0 is unacceptable next year then add in Ga Tech at home as our crossover, well, they just need to bounce back and make a bowl

I know. I agree.

But I feel a lot better about playing Rutgers than LSU when we're trying to get back to a bowl, you know?

The upside is that this year proved that, if we put a good team on the field, the community will step up and buy tickets.

But if I see Dino looking around at a half empty Dome before kickoffs next year, with some disapproving look on his face, I’m going to lose it. He blew it big time this season. I can barely express how bigly he blew it

Exactly. He wasn't here the last 20 years watching what we had to. With the attendance at the end of last year, the bowl attendance, and this year's season ticket sales, the fans stepped up to the plate, and showed that we will support a competent program. Expecting fans to show up and sit through what we just witnessed is short-sighted and ridiculous. I could see showing up and supporting as years 1-3 as he built up the program, but not in year 4 as things fall apart at the seams. I've very rarely had no motivation to attend a home football game. Today was the first time in a long long time where i just said screw it and stayed home. I had a bad feeling something bad was about to happen.

At some point (maybe soon) you have to question Babers future here.

That time is now 4-8 4-8, 9-3 3-9, its clear which one doesn't belong. Enought of the quotes and believing nonsense, we need answers and we need them.now or we need to make a major move because this program is in Rutgers territory right now

Yeah, we returned a LOT of players who were a meaningful part of a 10 win team last year... and most of them have stunk this year. That suggests to me that (a) the coaches failed them and (b) they failed themselves.

Unfortunately, our recruiting hasn’t been good. People love to chirp that stars don’t mean anything, and I know they’re not the be all, end all. But when your class is consistently ranked at the bottom of the conference, then it’s fair to say it’s not near good enough.

Maybe we need to play faster and looser with the rules. It tends to help. Who knows.
I’d rather lose and not cheat versus cheat and win. We aren’t the SEC. we have standars

I’m starting to think talent might be part of the problem. If it’s not, then it’s coaching.
Lack of talent means your safety is a few yards behind a receiver because he can't keep up. Bad coaching is when your safety is at the line of scrimmage when the receiver he should be covering is 30 yards upfield, and then it happens again on the next series as well because our safety didn't learn anything.

And forget consecutive series, think about how this same sort of mistake has happened week after week after week.....

Back when things started to go south for the Orange and Paul P. was coach, he was asked by the press, "What happened?"

Pasqualoni told the reporter, "I have absolutely no idea."

I can remember shaking my head and saying, "P, that is the wrong answer to give."

This had to be a completely candid and honest answer from Pasqualoni. In fact, all the reasons and factors for the quick decline might even have been unknowable. But that doesn't matter. Because as the one responsible you just cannot admit to that. You are paid to know the answer to that AND you had better come up with a plausible strategy for fixing it.

It may be unfair, but that's the way the world works.

It's premature right now because the season isn't over. Who knows, we might yet see a remarkable turnaround.

But, if it continues along its current path, Dino is going to have to come up with the answers to two questions:

1. What happened?
2. What are you going to do to fix it?

We are just about beyond "Faith without evidence.)

And this might be extremely difficult and even painful to do. He has to walk the line between being brutally frank and demotivating people he needs to depend on in the future.

He needs to do this for the fans, the press, the team and any recruits on the horizon.

He's very good at diverting direct questions, sometimes by moving things onto a higher intellectual plane. (As in "I don't think about it that way …" And because people genuinely like the guy, they frequently allow him to float above the fray. I know I do.

I hope he does know what the problems are and that he can come up with a plan to fix them.

I hope he doesn't fall victim to the do things just to show he is doing things (Like fire all the Assistants). Although the temptation and pressure to do this is going to be tremendous. That's not to say that some, much or all of this spectacular failure isn't the fault of the coaches. Just that if you don't know it is, then don't start firing people just to show you are doing something.

I'm sure he knows this and I'd be willing to bet Wildhack does. I sure am curious as to how we got to where we are and what the plan is for fixing it.
Why do you think you're owed anything?

Maybe we REALLY got lucky last year , even getting to play W.Va in the bowl game. The one thing I just can't get my head around is Vegas put out the over/under on total wins for us this year at 5.5 or 6. THEY KNEW WE WOULD STINK. That's a pathetically low amount given our schedule. They aren't stupid. I took the bait, I thought we'd be better. Geesh. W. Va stinks but they'd wallop us.

Yep.

And, what was likely one of the most cringe worthy moments in my life as a Syracuse fan (over 40 years) was watching the on field interview with BC's coach immediately after the game when he stated we ran the same play over 30 times, while almost himself you could see his smirk of utter astonishment, and how successful for them it was. It was as if he was saying to his opponent in a fight, now, before I punch you right in the face, I'm going to count to 100 for you to try to do something about that.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

He took responsibility when talking to matt Park. Said it’s on me. Also said there was a lot of blame to go around, mix of scheme, coaches, x’s and o’s and players

Fine. But that is not where we are at. We are dreadful. That isn't .500 Right now, this instance, I can't say for sure that we are better off than when Dino took over. We had the 10 win season. And that was wonderful. But it is such a outlier.
Baseline... some better some worse
