Class of 2020 WR Chris Long (NJ) Decommitted

Which then becomes a game of how to distribute. You hate to leave that kind of speed on the sidelines and you have potentially LA, Willis and Nixon returning. So can coach Nixon work a 4 to 6 plays per game "speed package" for James to get some opportunities beyond kick returns?
Agreed. Fastest player on the roster.
You cannot sell me on the non- use of James who ran the fastest 100M in NJ history and a 4.21 40 but is used strictly on ST. Of course, the coaches may have wanted to introduce Malachi to football that way, but I'd like to see him with a ball in his hands outrunning the D.

In the Bowl Game his speed didn’t really jump out like I thought it would in person. Assume he was healthy. He really should have taken one to the house with his speed. Perhaps his speed just doesn’t translate to football as we expect.

Hard to see this having something to do with Evan's given Evan's has like 5 new offers since portaling that includes SEC. Unless behind the scenes Evan's made a commit to Fran before scheduling his visit which while plausible would be surprising. Evan's certainly a likely better option for us and we could end up playing against him as he was I think offered by Tennessee as well. Good luck to Long either way.

I think we might have asked him to reconsider and look elsewhere with the Evans news
As I was just saying, that would be total B.S. We have a football expert, a guy who knows more about football than anyone here. That is for damn sure, who says Long would be our best wr. And that expert, whose name is Rutgers Al, is never wrong. Well, almost never wrong. Well, sometimes right. Well, he has been right. Well...

He didn’t really demonstrate a whole lot on kick returns.

Running a deep route one on one is a whole lot different than a kick off where you have 11 guys trying to tackle your ass.

He’s a RB, not a WR, and he wasn’t stealing snaps from LeQuint, Yasin or Nixon so it’s a moot point.
