when we compare Kent State and Syracuse. 3 games, if you are on equal pairing with your opponents 3-5 should be easier then 5-3. Going .500 in conference play means you don’t even make a bowl unless you upset one of your 3 money games. Syraxuse has a chance for 3-1 4-0 in OOC every year. To got 2-6/3-5 in the ACC isn’t much to ask for. I bet you Sean Lewis wishes he could do that and still make a bowl. KS before him was bad. Like really really bad. He had improved them up to recruiting at about .81 when they used to be .79 and next year he has a 5/6 year senior QB and a WR in Nyk who will Both be auditioning for the NFL. They will make a bowl game I bet next year

I think Kent St's conference opponents have fewer advantages, if any, over Kent St. than SU's conference opponents. I think their path to 6 conference wins is easier than our path to 6.

You are understating how bad Kent state has been in money spent and playerspreviously. There was an article about Kent where players had to have meetings in like the box office cause they don’t even have dedicated rooms. Syraxuse should always be able to win 3 out of 8 games in conference. Heck if they just win their 3 easy OOC games you can go 3-6 against P-5 schools and still make a bowl. Kent state doesn’t have that luxury. They don’t get to even matchups in Ooc. They have to schedule bodybag games in order to make enough to fund sports. If they could get by with 2 games like that then it’s a different story

Whoa, treading on dangerous territory. Not only are you not allowed to hope the staff is actively looking at the portal but thinking Lewis is a good coach is a no-no too.

You also have to give Lewis a lot of credit for the 10-3 season in 2018 at Syracuse when he left the year before. He is simply that good

Just because of location, the gap between them and their conference opponents is smaller than us and ours. Essentially, every team is in the midwest, so the recruit base is similar for every school. SU is in a state with few P5 prospects competing against a bunch of public schools in states with many more P5 prospects. Financial investment can be changed. Geography cannot.

They aren't required to schedule all of their OOC games against P5 schools. That is their choice, if they decide to do it, and they don't always do it. They can bake in an easy OOC win when they want to like when they played Kennesaw St. (an FCS school) in 2019. Their path to 6 wins is easier than ours.
