The first 2-night SummerSlam and a surprise to end each night…
















**Spoilers**

















Night 1- Punk wins the belt from Gunther. Rollins comes out on crutches with the MitB briefcase in Heyman’s hands. Seth turns to go return backstage only to drop his crutches, his robe, and head to the ring to pummel Punk with the briefcase and cash in for the win. Punk had the title for 5+ minutes.

Night 2- Cody wins the belt back from Cena. Cody leaves Cena in the ring for a send off and as he is finishing up… Brock Lesnar’s music hits. He is back. Circles the ring, enters it, and delivers the F5 to Cena. John has about 12 dates left before it is all over him in the ring.

Hopefully Cody is more heel now and they successfully pull the double turn with Cena ending his career as a face again.
 
Thought it was a 'meh' Summerslam. Of course there were a few great matches.

But the first-night 'surprise' had already been outed everywhere--that Rollins really wasn't injured and that it was a work, and that he'd cash in the briefcase. CM Punk was, I thought, awful in that match.

And the second night surprise was, IMO, despicable. Lesnar was deeply involved in Vince's s-e-x-ual harassment scheme, and tested positive for 'roids. No way he should've been brought back. Not now. Not ever.
 
I went to both nights, I generally had a good time. Real sour note for me ending with Brock coming back, but that certainly wasn't a common sentiment among the people there.

Wasn’t Brock cleared? It was “just” texts mostly initiated through Vince, correct?

I also was surprised to see him, but can’t say I hated it.

He's not a defendant in the civil suit. But he indeed went to dinner with Grant with the expectation that s-e-x would follow, but (I'm not making this up), he got totally drunk at dinner and had to be taken back to Vince's plane.

Vince allegedly had Grant write all sorts of s-e-x-y texts to Brock, and Brock had allegedly had the dinner set up because he 'liked what he saw'.

This, according to Dave Meltzer and Brian Alvarez of Wrestling Observer, who have read the civil suits.

Well by definition he was cleared by wwe legal ot else he wouldn’t be there.

I’ve read most of the suit (to be fair close to when it came out, it was a while ago). Brock seemed to be pretty uh, involved with Vince and whatever the hell he was doing.
Not saying he’s going to be legally liable or anything like that; but to me that’s also not the only standard. But obviously, to WWE it is.

WWE Legal isn't the courts, to be fair. One thing to keep in mind--Lesnar is under contract, so he gets paid whether he's hunting up in Minnesota or he's on TV. He's been off for two years now b/c of his involvement in this. He gets paid a lot.

I know the plan is for Lesnar and Cena to feud on Cena's way out. Both are 48 years old.

I think, but (said Captain Obvious) I'm not sure, that this will not look good to the public, and will result in a figurative black eye for TKO.

But nothing happened outside of messages and getting hammered at dinner?

Yes, I was intentional about what I said. Not sure how far it goes but they cleared him.

I kinda think they won’t get much bad pr for this. Sadly.

Vince was trying to traffic her to have Brock sleep with her. It’s not clear exactly what Brock knew about the situation but the two were pretty close and the whole thing just has some bad vibes (to say the least)

Vince flew Lesnar down with the expressed purpose of s-e-x trafficking Janel Grant. After Lesnar had expressed, um, desire, for her. Wasn't just texts, but provocative photos.

Lesnar got too drunk to consummate the relationship, so Vince flew him back on his plane.

The pro Lesnar case has to be something along the lines of he just thought this girl was totallt into him and wanted to sleep with him, not was being coerced into it by Vince. Which considering the people involved and their history, I just dont know how much I can really buy that

That would be cool. Probably won't top the double turn of Wrestlemania 13 when Austin went face and Bret went heel.

I’m certainly not trying to defend anyone (and as I said I really didn’t know a lot of the specifics). BUT… as you said, from a legal standpoint, was anything done that broke the law? It seems not.

Insinuations and general creepiness surrounding Vince is certainly all still valid.
 
Starting in 2026 PLE are moving to a new espn subscription service, from peacock.

People are not happy about this. More $, another service, probably more ads.

Bad reaction so far from fans.

I actually like it, I was just going to subscribe to the streaming service as I don’t have any tv product.
