Zion got paid to go to Duke

Breaking News: Duke whispers from a high placed official, $400K came from Catawba College... recommend they get probation for interference of their recruit

Don't mind the construction here!! We are building some homes for our Duke alumni so they can rent them out to families!

Yeah, but why would such a prestigious and successful program like Duke cheat? It's not like they have any reason to cheat as just about every kid wants to play for coach K and wear those four letters. It's the "naughty" programs like Univ Kentucky, Arizona, Louisville, Kansas, etc. who give a bad name to recruiting, not Duke. Those schools "have" to cheat in order to compete with Duke. Everyone should get off Duke's back - they're clearly not guilty in any of this.

Is nothing sacred in this world? Is there not one legitimate righteous entity? Duke needs to be thoroughly investigated decades back

You all are haters who are jealous, who don't know class.

Duke plays very clean, and Coach K is by far the greatest coach ever, and probably has the most dignity and honesty of anybody in the United States... this also includes outside of basketball.

Duke conducted another exhaustive internal investigation (it lasted at least 15 minutes), and determined that everything was just peachy, and Zion’s eligibility was never in question.

The NCAA has accepted this at face value, and closed the case.

They also wrote an apology letter to Duke and Coach K, and promised to never, ever bother them again.

Maybe Zion didn't get paid to go to Duke (by these Jabronis).

In that case, I'm guessing you could say I'm "Shocked!"

Also, the fake ID is amazing. His height and weight are switched!

That is hilarious. This guy is a paid stooge taking the fall for Duke. Media eats it right up. Absolutely none of that story, up to and including the guys quotes, rings real in any way.

Anyone who's been following the recruitment and his stepfather's dealings in it knows this doesn't pass the sniff test. Maybe it's a good thing Clemson didn't get him. They'd have flipped the campus upside down had he committed there. It would have been out of the ordinary for them to land a Blue Chip prospect despite them being in his backyard.

This is a Pandora"s box the NCAA doesn't want opened. They know the cesspool that is out there. They aren't going to hammer anyone for cash payouts unless a federal agency acts first.

Does this guy have documentation from those other investors, from that time period, showing the actual transfer of money? I hope the investors would have wire receipts. Then, how did he ‘send’ the $400k to the Zion associate? He says he never met anyone. Where’s the paper trail?

If duke is behind this story as a coverup, I gotta hope/expect an even far greater weight to fall on them.

The mind boggling thing about Zion's recruitment is that he turned down serious cash to play at Kansas. Yet, if you ask Duke fans, they don't see how obvious it is that Duke clearly paid him and likely outbid Kansas. Who the heck turns down serious cash to play somewhere else for no money? Also, we're talking about Kansas, not a no name school. His recruitment was so dirty - that is so obvious to anyone outside the Duke bubble.

Unless they throw big money at her to settle, I expect the attorney to dig it up.
