Louisville Cards being naughty?

On many levels I have no issue with this.

1) Let consenting adults do what they want. Prostitution, in most circumstances and under certain conditions, should not be illegal.
2) It is an improper benefit, but the NCAA goes overboard with this stuff.

On the other hand, I don't think this is the way they should be recruiting 18 year olds, so I would still want rules around it.

But it is illegal.

Pitino's not going anywhere(unless he bought the prostitutes)...They have no viable replacement and wins are > than ethics, especially in Kentucky, and especially when they need him to keep Louisville relevant with Cal at UK.

"According to CBS Sports’ Gary Parrish, Lyle confirmed the allegations during the interview.

Ohio State freshman JaQuan Lyle spoke with an NCAA investigator this week about his recruiting visit to Louisville in June 2013 and confirmed the gist of allegations involving paid escorts during his trip to the school, a source with knowledge of the NCAA’s investigation told CBS Sports on Thursday morning.

“He told the truth,” the source said."

Oh Rick, what have you done

After everything Syracuse has been through in the last 5 years or so, I just get a sick feeling in my stomach when hearing about this kind of stuff. As fans, we really just want to enjoy our teams and enjoy our sport. This sort of stuff makes that seriously difficult.

On top of that, imagine this: if Louisville was rolling out high paid escorts to "service" the recruits coming to their campus on visits and they didn't get them to go to Louisville, imagine what the other schools are doing...

Rick on the radio:

Rick Pitino on the radio: Sorry U of L president James Ramsey "didn't think enough to mention me" in release today.

Okay, agreed. BUT. I was all high and mighty about Paterno and Sandusky and then the Bernie Fine garbage hit the fan. Then I knew what it felt like to be a Penn State fan. In that line of thinking, you know there are Louisville fans who would group us with Penn State being all high and mighty and holier than thou. Now they get to experience the yucky feeling that doesn't come off even if you shower. There's a good chance Coach Pitino gets fired over this based on the Louisville president's comments. Louisville fans have to be sick to their stomachs. I would make a comment but I don't want any bad karma.

Silently inside his head he's thinking:
"he,he,he...I'm making a shocker gesture with my fingers on national television just like those cheerleaders"
