2017 Yankees Thread

I hate it that a whole bunch of my favorite posters seem to be Yankees fans.
Go Mariners! And Mets, if we need to include a NY team.
First fight of my life was at age 5. With a Dodger fan. Go Yanks!

Holy crap! Just checked the scores and saw the NYY/CHC box. Wow! What a dramatic win! Good for Gardy, he's long been a favorite of mine. :)
Final strike too.

Hell of a W!!

And as for that pic of Jr above...well that Mariner victory launched a Yankee Dynasty!!!!!

Hey, you have my man Cano out there now, so stop your sobbing. ;)

first blown save of the year for Chapman I think

Power Rankings: How high can Yankees climb?

2. New York Yankees
Record: 20-9
Week 4 ranking: No. 4

The Yankees have had three separate winning streaks of four games or more. Last year, they didn't win more than two in a row until May 18-24 (winning six in a row), and their third winning streak of at least four games didn't start until July 17. Their 167 runs scored are most in the American League and second-most in the majors behind the Nationals. Aaron Judge is playing a big role, but so is Starlin Castro, who's hitting .355, best in the American League. -- Sarah Langs, ESPN Stats & Information

These Yankees and Cubs are destined to meet in a World Series

Let's play two: Yankees beat Cubs 5-4 in 18 innings

Yanks-Cubs sets record with 48 strikeouts

I know it's a cliché, but when I was growing up we really did have who is better arguments: Mickey, Willie or Duke. One of my friends was a Dodgers fan and another was a Giants fan. Both of their teams had moved west so they were stuck with the late night games and no box scores in the morning. I had bragging rights until after the 1962 World Series. Things started going downhill in 1963. I hated Koufax and Drysdale.

Holder and Shreve pitched great.

Now they'll both probably end up in SWB.
Was thinking about that. How do we send them down after last night? I can see them sending Shreve down, we need some fresh arms in the bullpen. Current roster as it stands, the only available bullpen pitchers today IMO would be Betances, Clippard, and Lane.

When McCovey lined to Richardson to end the series - I discovered the art of talking smack at a very young age.

Good news ... Tanaka is going tonight.

Bad news ... we in an NL ballpark (Cinci) Monday & Tuesday. Wednesday is an off day.

Mitchell and Cessa pitched on Saturday, SWB was rained out yesterday.

I was going to ask for a show of hands to see who saw that to the end, but it appears as enough of us did, so ill let it go.

wow, what a weekend...10 days.

to go 8-2 v the sux, the O's, what was supposed to be a good Toronto team...and the World Champs, is something to hang your hat on.

lets get at least 1 in cincy and bring on the 'stros and Jeter Week/Day!!...

What is funny is I fell asleep during the 4th through 8th innings. Woke up in the bottom of the ninth and didn't miss a pitch from then onward.

I went to bed after the seventeenth ...
Aren't you in the Pacific time zone? Are you getting soft? :)

What % of existing Giants and Dodgers fans would you estimate still followed those teams after they moved west?

Never hated Koufax. Drysdale on the other hand.
